but Panther is available in just 15 days, and less than an hour!!!

are you going to be present at an apple store when it's released?

I'm sorta hoping to go to the Vegas store, at 8pm ~ish on the 24th, but the 25th is also parents anniversary... (so we should be in vegas anyway)

So who'se going to buy it? who'se already got it downloaded, or downloading it now? and out of those downloaders, who plans on buying a copy inthe physical when they can?

I'll have Panther as soon as it's out. ;-)

I have sources.

It's so nice having all this software piled up, no matter what I need, I got something for the job.

Whatever you're talking about, tBoJ, it sounds very illegal. Tell me about it when I get home, over AIM

I'm giong to buy panther client, but Imight need "help" with panther server, if you know what I mean... (if I even get panther server, it might be a good excuse to buy Jaguar Server in box on eBay though...)

I'm thinking we'll have Panther pretty quick…
Apple Government store price: 64.50$US…
…It's great to have a Mom who works for the post office
and I would try to be at the Apple Store near Seattle… but I don't know if anyone would give me a ride half way up Washington

If I open my window all the bugs will get in…That's just one more reason to use a Mac!

Once again, a reason for me to live in WA...

Had I still lived in WA, I bet my mom'd be willing to come pick you up, and we could play marathon in the car or something, and then we'd be at my house, and then to the Apple Store in (wasn't in Bellevue?) (well... I'll just say Seattle..) Seattle.

Isn't there an Apple Store somewhere in Portland soon also?

I still wish that the edu discount applied to students...

there's a "photo" teacher at my school, whose classroom uses macintoshes...
I wonder if he's going to get panther, because I might be able to pay him $70, and just get the EDU 'version' (or maybe one of my other teachers... either way )

If you think $129 is expensive, here in Germany Apple is asking 149 euros = $176 !!!! Unbelievable! I wonder if we can use those software coupons we got when we bought the iMac last year. Probably not.

are you sure that you're using current exchange rates?

$129 USD comes out to be 109 euro here, on my calculator ( just updated the currency exchange rates minutes ago...)

oh, I just converted 149 euro, to USD and it is $175.6...

what a glayven, I'll check Apple's Germany site right now

WHAT A GLAYVEN!!
they really ARE charging [euro] 149 for it!

Yeah, an old gripe. This is strange pricing policy is one of the reasons why Apple has lost so much of its market share here in Germany, although it used to be quite popular, if the number of old macs on e-bay here are anything to judge by. Even when we had the Deutsche Mark before the Euro, the prices for Apple products where much higher than import duties and shipping from California could justify. Oh well.

What really sucks is that I just bought Jaguar 2 weeks before Panther was anounced. I have thought about going and buying a copy of Jaguar and returning it in order to get a recipt with a later date so that I could get the upgrade for $19.95. But that would be wrong so I am not going to do that.

Though if I wait a few weeks the upgrades should start showing up on ebay.

Also I going to try going to launch at the Apple store. I might be able to convience someone to sell me one.

And if you think thats expensive, here in Australia its AU$229, which converts to US$157.89. Thankfully, as a uni student, i get the edu discount, which allows me to get it for a more sane AU$129.

I'm only a high school student though, Every time I've tried to do that stuff, it's explicitly excluded HS students I'll check again though, because that could be extremely useful, to THIS high school student.
