i got my PB 540c! man is it nice. it was only $50 and it's got 36MB RAM and 2 basically brand new BTI batteries that each hold 1 1/2 hours charge. the latch doesn't work too well so that'll have to be fixed and it's got a couple of dead pixels but other than that it's great. |

you posted in this topic, JUST to tell me that I got something about ti wrong?if I did that, I'd have at least 30 more posts than I do now, just from what you say that's not exactly correct, spec-wise to computers.... Either way, the 190cs has a full 040 (IIRC) and so does the PowerBook 550c, so I wasn't too far off when I may have said that the 540c has a full o40. (looking at EveryMac, and it'd appear that the only 'book with a full o40 is a 550c...) would you like me to chck with everymac before I say anything about a mac? Thought not... Either way... Cory, there's nothing wrong with posting just to correct someone...it happens all the time on forums! And besides, even though it does suck to get things wrong, it is a learning experience, and on top of that, if one day you get a 540c, you want to know as much as possible about it, right? I know that as soon as I get a new 68k, i always do a google search and check all my favourite sites for more information about it, even if i already know a lot about it...thats half the fun! Cory, I would advise you to reconsider what you are posting as your last post in this topic is very confrentational and rude, even mean.I don't have anything against you but if you can't accept a small correction, then you need to rethink how you react to it.

Yes, I realize that that post is rude. I halfway meant it to be.I got one little detail wrong, and there is nicer ways to correct me. I checked with Everymac, and the fact is that I did get it wrong, but the overall tone of clinton's post was not one with happiness or silliness or anything like that. When I try to correct someone's facts on a forum, I would probably add a bit of spice to the post. like this Quote: Oh, and BTW, the 540s had lc 040s, not full 040s. Either way, Congrats Brett! /quote. that, relates to the original topic, of brett having gotten the 540, and politely corrects my wrong fact. I don't know if you know, but I pull just about every fact, figure and quote that i get, straight from the top of my head, so if I ever say anything that is wrong, it is OK to correct me, but I would really appreaciate if, if it was a friendly correction. and I would have to say that nearly 99% of what I say is completely accurate. Not a cold, disapproving statement, that conveys a feeling as though I've done something wrong, by stating an incorrect fact. Cory, he didn't mean to insult or upset you or anything. He was just correcting a fact."**** em" - Jobs in regards to customers Warrior maclover5 68kMLA Official 68kMLA Detective Number of 68ks Liberated: 7 Number of Contraband (PPC) Liberated from the Dumpster: 1 |

and what a good job he does of sounding very inhuman while doing it.I've been corrected before, and it's no big deal really, but when you do it like that, where there's a whole post, dedicated to nothing but correcting someone, and you don't even add personality to it. One emoticon, and the entire mood of the post could have changed for the better, and I would've looked and everymac, and said something like Quote: Oh yeah, I forgot that the 550c was the only 040 base 'book that had a FPU. Too bad we don't live in Japan huh? /Quote. Official 68k videographer Official MLA TourGuide Editor of the MLAgazine "I'm just a normal computer geek who somehow landed a social life" |

Then perhaps you should not take his reply as an inhuman one. Perhaps that is just the way he writes. There really is no reason to get this upset over such a small thing cory. -------------------- Christophillis- Portable Squadren Commander 68k Macintosh Liberation Army Total 68k Macs Liberated: 6.02x10^23 Or just 6 Number One, you have the helm. cory, that was NOT meant to be a personal affront. you know me well enough by now that I never beat round the bush, and I get straight to the point. I would've said the same to anyone who posted something I knew to be incorrect, and that I knew what it actually was in my head. remember, not everyone is out to get you.oh, and in this case, I was on a time constraint because I looked at the time just as I hit the post reply button, and realized that I was almost late to class, and that my prof would've killed me. anyway, please try avoid creating confrontational situations before thinking things through totally. By the way, I would also like to add that signing up at a forum just to diss someone such as minza86 did is frowned on by the mods. Sure, there's a chance that you are going to contribute in other discussions as a well respected member would, but still, using your first post to insult someone like that does not give others a very good impression. For now, this thread is locked."**** em" - Jobs in regards to customers Warrior maclover5 68kMLA Official 68kMLA Detective Number of 68ks Liberated: 7 Number of Contraband (PPC) Liberated from the Dumpster: 1 |
