I am posting from my 1ghz 12 incher, after waiting more than a month for it to ship. It gets VERY warm, and the fan runs almost constantly, but otherwise, I love it! It puts my "fast" g3 to shame

Welcome to the ranks of portable G4 owners!

we range in speed from 400MHz to 1.25 GHz, like me, you run at 1 GHz, unlike me, your machine breaks the number "1" in other ways (*like airport, superdrive speed, and "yeah")

have good fun with that machine, keep the packaging, and make sure you own it 10 years from now

you're not a PowerBook G4 owner?

/me faints...

yeah, portable G4 machines are great, but I always wonder what would life be like today, had I gotten an eMac, iMac, or PMG4 instead of this 'book G4....

I dont have the cash to buy one And If I did, I would most likely buy an Alto Clarinet.....or similar. It would be nice though, to have a G4

If i get the money, i'm getting one in 2005 most probably. I'd love to get one in 2004, but i am jobless, and get AU$10/week for allowance.

I wouldn't want one of those anyhow. Too big and awkward.

heh…

Total G4's: Humm……………………………………………………… 0
[Dad hardly lets me on the G4 iMac, unless it's to burn CDs or play one of a few games while he's not buisy; so not even close to "My computer"; but in 5-6 years when it's *too* out of date… ]

If I open my window all the bugs will get in…That's just one more reason to use a Mac!

I'll probably be joining you guys soon. I' have the crappiest Debian box at work and hate it! It's also a bit stupid as at least 50% of the programs I need to run aren't available for Linux, including photoshop, a decent MS office compatible suite and about every web browser under the sun, at the same time as some CVS and developers tools. With Mac OS X and softwindows I could run everything off one box and have a portable to boot which I've wanted for a while. I'm sure this post was going somewhere, I've forgotten now though......

Oh yeah, the 17"er I also thought it was huge but it is actually only about an inch wider than a 14" pismo, I guy at work and I did the measurements, so it's not quite as huge as you would expect.

I like the twelve, but my 17 rules. Its actually big, but not horribly akward, compared to my friends 16" vaios. those things are cumbersome...

this just goes anywhere I want it to without complaint

I remember when I used to think that the TiBooks were huge... now it seems like it's just normal, but then again, it's just about the same size, as most other normal laptops (now that I see it) anyway...

I have used the 17, and it is way too big. I would not use it, (unless it was free) in any circumstance. I would go with the 15. Decked out of course

LOL! my TiBook 15 was 'decked out' in it's heyday...

airport, .5GB ofRAM, SuperDrive, 60GB hard drive and stuff...

well it's still decked out enough for me even now
