It's dissasembled. The Power Relay board is shot and the CPU is toast. It's good for parts or if someone wants to use the chasis for something else. I will include everything I have for 50 bucks. Unless you can find a CPU and find a way to fix it's power issues, not sure it's worth a repair, but for anyone that has a NEC Versa 2430CD, this is a steal to upgrade the RAM and have a few spare body parts.

Yes, the sanner will do 35mm slides. Technically it can scan printed photos as well but sadly it locks up when I try. (HP's site shows how to unlock it)If you have the 35mm negs inside a slide, just pressing the front button to switch modes will do the trick. This is a HP PhotoSmart (Original Version, No Extra Model Numbers extra) http://h20015.www2.hp.com/en/product.jhtml?reg=&cc=ca&lc=en&pagetype=pspscan (There is third party software I have to enable Mac/Linux support)

I'd like to have the option of running it in w2k or wxp as well, don't think the scanner does that. . .still very intruiging scanner for my macs. . . what about the scsi card and cable that the site says comes with it?

The updated software which I have on CD will work on Windows 95 and above, including NT4, 2000 and XP. (I last used it in XP)I no longer have any SCSI card with it, so this is something you would need to purchase yourself. There are inexpensive ones on eBay nowadays, or I could try and find you one locally before sending it. I do have a multitude of Cables, so if I obtain a card for you locally I can make sure the right cable is shipped with it. I have purchased SCSI cards at about 30 dollars Canadian and they are PCI, so I'm sure I could probably find something and if it's a good enough price, I can just include it no charge cause this stuff needs to go. :)

If I can get a small box that fits it just right, it will only cost around 5-6 dollars Canadian.I think I can get something together. Would you like it?
