Hello, I'm looking to sell a Daystar Digital Turbo 040 upgrade. Most of you probably know what these do, but for those that don't, it's a card that you can plug into a number of 68k Macintoshes' PDS slot to upgrade your CPU to a full 68040 with FPU (floating-point math coprocessor). This card has a 68040 on it, which normally runs at 40 MHz. I've swapped the oscillator on it for a 24.000 MHz model and thereby made it run at 48 MHz. To keep it cool I also installed a fan on it, around 60mm. That's on a molex connector, so you can feed power from your drive connector, etc. easily. I pulled this from my working IIci, and I can vouch that the kind of speed increase it provides is bloody ridiculous.Note that 800k floppies do not work with the card running at this speed, but if that is not problem for you, I urge you to take a look. :) http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&category=4601&item=2756798334 Thanks for your interest. I'll also be selling a variety of SuperMac cards in the near future, which have some sort of leads on them (looks like RGB/SCART leads?) .. so keep an eye out, I'll be putting those up this weekend.
