…But, I did get a 233 G3 DT on Friday ^_^ [but, yet again, I tell you days later thankx to Lit. classics…]

The poor machine was *belived* to have a bad power supply
but I think they didnt put the powercable in far enough
anyway the fools took all the RAM, the HD, and the CD out… and since I have no ATA stuff lying around [except for one bad HD], a Im stuck with an external 4x CD [giving me Trouble -_-] and an external 2GB SCSI HD [Yes, I am thinking about putting internal but I don't know if I have a spare SCSI ribbon…], oh, and the HD and the CD aren't getting along right now… [can't startup, since the CD wont work; yes I tried changing the IDs; and Command-Option-Shift-Delete, and C]

Well that's it, Im off to steal the CD and SCSI ribbon from one of my 7100/80's…

If I open my window all the bugs will get in…That's just one more reason to use a Mac!

Congrats on the contraband liberation. It may not be a 68k, but is sounds like a nice box'o biege Apple goodness that just needs TLC (and ATA and CD and SCSI )

update: I stole the 8x slot-loading CD from my 7100/80av [I gave it the normal Apple 600 as a replacement, from a 7100/80]

So the SCSI ribbon from the 7100/80, and the 8x SCSI CD drive seem to be working [but that SCSI ribbon is just a smidge tight…]

That sounds like my 266. :-) About six months ago, I got the OSX bug and bid on a G3 266 DT on ebay with what purported to be a bad power supply. When it arrived, I plugged it in, hit the button, and got the chimes of a perfectly healty Mac. To this date, the only times I had any problems where when I opened it up and didn't make sure to fully seat the power cable.

I myself never have used a beigey, but it should help a rhapsody fix, or an OSX fix (being able to run up to Mac OS X 10.2)

I'd get a Beigey, but I have the blue/white, and a beigey DT looks exactly like the 7300, dad wouldn't like that
