Ask Da Penguin, he had/has netatalk running on his server. Dependancies are tough, especially when they don't bind.

This is why i love gentoo, u just emerge it and poof, it works (99% of the time, upgrading php is the current example of it sucking)

Check the config of netatalk. I have no idea what lidb does (database something?), so that doesnt help...

You could always install OpenStep and run CAPer (Columbia AppleTalk Package). It works well, allows sharing of printers and files, and comes with a great GUI for configuring it.

Just think though, BCA... your server doesn't hard crash every couple hours does it?

I'm thinking mine *MIGHT* need a new hard drive, whaddyathink?

have you looked at the documentation for your distro and/or your netatalk to see if they have your problem and how to fix it?

even apache then?

bad luck...

Good luck with the next install though, I'm hoping that this next install of "everything" that I'm going to do with mac OS X Server 10.2 on my own server will work...
