Just picked up a Quadra 650 for 2.50 euros from a publishing house I was hoping to get some work from. Their backroom is full of old 68k macs, monitors, keyboards, etc. They have upgraded to old powermacs. I would have liked to have taken a 15" multi-scan, but my desk is full. It would mean getting rid of the 12" black and white monitor!
Anyway, the Quadra has 7.6 installed (otherwise all programs have been removed), a 500Mb HD, and has 4x4 72pin Rams + 4 Mb soldered on board. The feet have fallen off, so I have to put it on a piece of cardboard to keep from scratching my desk. There is no CD drive, so when I do add one, it will be pretty ugly without the plastic cover, but so what. My Q950 also suffers from a similar case of case-ugliness! Have to say, though, that the 650 is a great deal quieter than the 950.
Liberated: MacIIsi, Performa 475, Quadra 950 and now a Quadra 650!

Well the 650 doesn't have the freak'n huge PSU of the 9x0

Humm… it seems like there should still be some source for the CD bezels for that case…

If I open my window all the bugs will get in…That's just one more reason to use a Mac!

Congratulations on the 650.

I hope you also got the work from that publishing house. Perhaps you can offer to be paid in Macs.
