         As we just about all know by know, 10/100 Nubus Ethernet cards are very difficult to come by and thus very expensive. Well, I for the first time found some being sold on eBay! The seller has 5 of them, and they're starting at $25 each. The only caveat is that they're not auto-sensing, so you have to have them connected to a hub/router that can be manually set to 100TX, not an auto-sensing hub.I don't know if anybody on the board has 100Mbps capability anyway, but for those of you who do in your office/what-have-you, these would be a rare treat to give a 68k a super-fat-pipe! 666th poster to the 68K Macintosh Liberation Army Forums Mod of the Mac II series Forums Total 68K Macs liberated: 7 Visit my site! |

   hmmmmmmgh? ................. does anybody know of a low end manually configurable hub/router for 10/100 or a really low end 10/100/1000 if such a thing exists? jt2 <8-}Edited by - alcoa on 08 Feb 2002 15:41:00 |

         The seller recomends a 100TX hub, like this one, which, because it only supports 100tx, I believe would then have to be bridged (via the uplink port) to another hub/router that would supply 10/100 to the rest of your machines. This would probably be the cheapest solution. Otherwise, you'd have to shell out the bigger bux for (or already have in your office/studio/crawlspace) a managed switcher like this one.666th poster to the 68K Macintosh Liberation Army Forums Mod of the Mac II series Forums Total 68K Macs liberated: 7 Visit my site! |

   TOTALLY cool! but the little one would actually fit into my desk. I'll stick to 10bt/hub/phonenet/bridge for now.  But it irks me no end to have a 100bt/6360 sitting next to gigabitG-4 strapped down to the setup, but I don't REALLY have a need for the speed. *sigh* jt2 <8-}
