MacWorld Paris hath brought 15" AlBooks, at up to 1.25 and 1.33GHz (for the 17" Models) a wireless keyboard and mouse...

I wouldn't mind to kinda "have" one of the new 15" AlBooks, but I'm the kind of person who has "problems" with ports being on the side, dunno how I'll feel about that. For me, it'll really depend on what ports are where. I'd be pretty happy to have the faster graphics, larger hard drive, faster processor, cooler looking speakers, glowy keyboard, and with bluetooth, the UBER cool new wireless keyboard and mouse. I'm beginning to with that my TiBook had bluetooth, because that'd be a pretty cool keyboard/mouse combo to have, especially with my tendency to like the thought of projectors, and/or using the family's large television as my display. (where the still included Svideo out comes in handy huh?)

I haven't seen anything pertaining to panther yet, but it might be there... I'll post back if I see anything else groundshaking.

(At school, so I'm not logging in to edit my original post, but I just saw something else droolworthy, the new 'books can have up to 2 GB of RAM (15" at least) and Radeon 9600 mobility.

ALso, the bluetooth keyboard/mouse are still beautiful

yo, just looked em up. . .they look great! The 2 gb RAM 15" will run close to 4,000 usd. . .ouch!!! I bet thats a screamer!

17" are too big! I was talking to this guy on a plane ride once because he was sporting an ibook. He said his main mac is a 17" powerbook, but that it was too big for him to bring on the plane. . .I guess the 2 extra inches just were too much for plane travel. I have never traveled with one, but it seemed his ibook fit just fine. . .maybe it was a 12" ibook. . .

humph, I was on the plane (in coach) sporting my 17" AlBook, and it was working just fine for me. I was not cramped at all, and I sure turned some heads with it ;)

now, its acting up, and I need to get to the bottom of the problem.

It's feeling the "I'm already obsolete" blues?

I wouldn't mind seeing an 1.25GHz iMac with that new keyboard/mouse set

TiBook'sll be rare in the future, almost like, ColorClassics or something... (because of the proliferation of AlBooks)

Why will all the AlBooks make the Ti rare? They can't change the fact that a certain number of TiBooks were manufactured.

It happened at Apple Expo Paris. The 15" TiBook got replaced with a 15" AlBook.

they look cool ... i want a 15" one ... another good thing about the 15" and 17" now is you can B.T.O. a 5400rpm drive instead of the normal 4200rpm one ... that should improve performance even more .... but still ... its not a G5 PB ... i think ill wait for the G5 just so i can say "I own the most powerful laptop in the world"

If I would/could buy a 15 i would up the hard drive. But I like the side ports, especially because the screen hinge is designed in a VERY good way. little to no stress or wearing out.

I like the current TiBook (*or the old TiBook) hinge design just fine, my desk is sometimes too small to have the ports on the side, because I need to fit on here, the TiBook, and directly to either side of it, a mousepad with my mouse, and amonitor/keyboard/mouse from the G3, and even with the ports on the rear, there's not really enough room, even it my mousepads hang off either end, and still even when I've no mouse witht he TiBook, it's cramped...

Ports on the side would be great if, for example, I had a larger desk, or only used the 'Book on the lap...
