Anyone remember our grass roots threads on MAF? The ones that inspired the creation of the 68kMLA? I went to check them out today, and they're gone! They're all gone! MA must've purged all the old UBB threads recently, because although they disabled the CGI scripts a few months ago, you could still get to the old threads if you had a direct link. Anyone got archived copies?

Eventually, i'm gonna turn my Grass Roots cache into "Grass Roots Enhanced" where if you click on the name of a user in the MAF threads it takes you to their MLA profile and other kewl things like that.

Also I want (if there are no objections from the mla) to integrate the grass roots page into the kevcave, so it fits stylistically... i dont think anybody will care, just checking as the MLA is sometimes flame-prone about retarded things

So eventually not only will the Grass Roots page be complete, but better, part of the MLA that can be preserved indefinitely.

one thing you shoud do llama, is make a local copy of all the images on those pages aswell, because the wayback machine has a tendency to loose them after a while

im afraid not. I currently am saving all the images off the wayback machine, and sometime in the near future i'll be rewriting the pages to use local images instead of wayback machine ones.

Another thing is I would like to like the "profile" links to the 68kMLA profiles of each person who replied to the threads (well, those who have an MLA profile anyway...)

PS: I have three stars!

EDIT: the Grass Roots page at the kevcave has now been "streamlined" into the same theme as that of the kevcave. more visual work will be done so it looks nice and spiffy still, but for now i'm concentrating on saving the images.
