the title says it pretty well I think…

could it be a lose cable? [the cable that connects the top to the bottom was DCed during shipping, I know that]

Also, is there a way I could use an external monitor with it? [it has the modem card, but I dont see a monitor slot…]

I might be interested in doing something weird/cool to it [hack: paint, custom case, something maybe like that? Since It's missing all but one of the case screws]

Thanks

If I open my window all the bugs will get in…That's just one more reason to use a Mac!

About the HD, there are four possibilities:

a) The cable is not connected
b) The cable has been destroyed somehow (for example, torn)
c) The hard disk is dead
d) The SCSI controller on your motherboard is dead

While assembling my PB145B, i ran into all these issues, and fixed them all (the new mobo came from a PB170 with a smashed screen, the 160 megger i originally was going to put into it was dead, my SCSI ribbon got ripped, i sometimes didn't seat the connectors fully). And about video out, unless you get an ultra rare external SCSI -> Video adapter, it can't be done.
