There is another forum that I have frequented for about 3 year I have decided to leave. In the past it was a really great community to be a part of. Everyone was nice and helpful we even had regional together to meet up with each other. It was a great place to be but it has gone down hill over the past year. In that past year many of the great people left or were forced out and now there just is no substance anymore. Any question or discussion just turns into a flame war. That moment when you decide there is nothing of value anymore and it is time to leave feels just like an old friend died.

I am glad to still have you guys and hope that it never happens to us.

I know how that feels. I have had that happen too. I also agree I hope it doesn't turn like that here, although I have trust in the staff here to make sure things stay in control.

Hey, Cats, where did you get that little custom title? Or should I ask what did you do to deserve that custom title?

hehehe... ALL HAIL TO CATS AND HIS COSTOM NAMEPLATE! WE WILL ALL GIVE HIM OFFERINGS OF GOLD AND EXOTIC FRUITS! rotfl. I have to vent my insanety somewhere (because i can't draw, or do flash very well, because of the not drawing, and because my brain cannot diliver accurate messages to my limbs or mouth) so I vent it here, so the world will hear my rantings (or, as the case may be, pockets of people on several contanents) BTw, what makes australia a contanent and not japan?! it's a completely seperate landmass and country and such.....

alot of the older forums are going down hill, and i think i have figured out, sort of, why ...

when the forums are new, there are lots of new questions and ideas floating about, and with the small userbase, most people enjoy it and get something out of it ... as the years go by, new members keep coming (albeit at a slower rate), but the "senior" members have heard most of the questions before, so they get annoyed when the same question is asked over and over again by the new members who havent heard it before, and also alot of the senior members have run out of ideas for "new" topics, so the fighting starts, and people get driven off, which is sad really

so no, i do think there is a bright future for the MLA, but as long as everyone is patient, try to keep of each others backs, and have a good time

I hardly think that this forum could be described as "old". Isnt it about two years pretty soon?

Yeah but 2 years is about 45 years in Internet time.

Tom you hit it right on the head.

My forum existed for less than a month, it got probably two posts the last two days it existed...

I think it's just when enough people lose interest, no new people start coming, there comes other forums to meet the needs, and when it gets to be how people just leech everything....

another thing, is that sometimes there's just one person, one "thing" that'll indirectly bork everything out...

dunno thought, I think that the MLA is unique enough, and we're enough of a dedicated bunch, we just need to navigate our way through a couple of tough spots in the road of the MLA, we may have made, or be making a few wrong turns, but the thing about roads, is that there's almost a way to get back on the right track.
