I had similar problems with my old Sony 15" monitor when I hooked it up to my G4. It worked fine with my 4400, but not my QS. I honestly think that some monitors prefer some computers, and refuse to work with computers they are unfamiliar with.Sounds like voodoo, but... Sgt. Your 610 is probably set at the wrong resolution and/or refresh rate for it. What kind of monitor is it? We can lookup the specs online...666th poster to the 68K Macintosh Liberation Army Forums Mod of the Mac II series Forums Total 68K Macs liberated: 7 Visit my site! |

That's a pretty decent monitor, similar specs to the Hitachi CM811+ I use here at the office.Okay, are you using the 610's onboard video or a Nubus video card? The onboard video can support up to 1152 x 870, and the monitor can take 1152 x 864 @ 85Hz, which is close enough to work. So, first of all, keep the 610 hooked up to the 14", and set it to 640 x 480 and go into options and set it to 85Hz. Then, disconnect the 14" monitor and connect the 19". Now scale it up to 1152 x 870, and it should automatically scale back from 16-bit to 8-bit color (if you have 1MB of VRAM) or 4-bit color (if you only have 512k of VRAM). If you have a Nubus video card, though, it'll all depend on the card you have and what it supports. Keep in mind you'll have to manually adjust the display to get it centered and square. If it's still all crazy, the CRT's toast. 666th poster to the 68K Macintosh Liberation Army Forums Mod of the Mac II series Forums Total 68K Macs liberated: 7 Visit my site! |

Couldn't jump in last night due to password impairment. (still impared. obviously, but I'm used to workarounds) How is it hooked up? does it have a mac db-15 cable built in or are you using a PC adapter and are the settings correct, sounds to me like the sense coding ain't makin sense someplace! Is the cable hardwired to the crt? jt2 <8-}

I'm using onboard video, and im going to try cinemafia's idea in a sec. alcoa I use a VGA-MAC converter which generic whitout the pins to change #'s, the perfivus owner spliced the cable but put it back together, its not attacted to the monitor its a cable that you can replace, thanks and ill report info in as soon as it comes availible!jeremy "I keep my friends close, but I keep my enemies closer" Napoleon Covert Ops Creator of the 68k Digital Hub 68k Macintosh Liberation Army Macs Liberated:16 |

What OS? If it's 8.1, go into Monitors and Sound and you'll see the resolution settings on the right. Set it to show all, and you should see 1152 x 870. I'm not sure what refresh rate it'll do, probably not 85Hz like the 19" monitor will like, but it should stil display even if it's as low as 60Hz (which it may end up being).666th poster to the 68K Macintosh Liberation Army Forums Mod of the Mac II series Forums Total 68K Macs liberated: 7 Visit my site! |

Ok well OS 8.1 picks up the 19' but only display 640x480 noting more or less and that wont show up on teh 19' so i have to connect back to 14' and restart to get back to 800x600. Marchie said its probally the converter from VGA-Mac so he is sending me one wiht the switches so i can set it up, the on I have is generic. Thanks to him, any other ideas?
