Hello Everyone,

I am having little success finding Sound Edit 16 on floppy so I thought I would ask if anyone had any old music editors on floppy that I could run on my Quadra 840AV that they would be willing to part with.

I'm simply looking to record at least eight tracks onto my computer, track by track and save them as a .wav file. Oh, and I want to record them from an external source thru the microphone jack.

If anyone has anything they might think I would be interested in please e-mail me tommypython@yahoo.com

Thanks,
Tripp Wallin

Actually, if you dig around in the HyperArchive, you will probably find an old shareware or freeware utility to do just that.

I know there are a few, just can't recall names. Although I do think SoundApp can record, and it will save to about any format out there.

Shreve was selling a <$5 sound card that had the floppies and install code for Sound Edit 16.
Way back when though they might be out.

Thanks for the information about shreve....I'm recently new to these sites and I hadn't thought to look for a card packaged with sound edit 16.

Thanks,

Well, I looked at the Shreve site and just couldn't find any sound cards with Sound Edit 16 for sale with them. :( Again, if anyone has a sound editor that can multi-track on diskette for sale please contact me.

Thanks,
Tripp Wallin

Let's just say your e-mail client doesn't take a 2.6MB file attachment.

Yes, unfortunately I have only the free e-mail but I would be more than willing to pay any mailing cost, diskette cost to get this. I am a poor and lowly bookstore employee and student (let me say, perpetual student) so I have to use this free e-mail stuff since I can't hook my old Mac or my newer PC to the internet. If you would be willing to mail me anything I would certainly pay costs.

Here's what to do. Get a Hotline client, go to tracker-tracker.com, do a server search for 68k, and look on Ion 68k for DigiTrax. It's either there or at RetroMac 68k (retromac68k.dyndns.org l/p retro/retro). It fits on one floppy, and it will do multitrack audio on an 840av. It even supports the DSP.
