hi,

my duo has fallen down to the ground, and the place where the ac adapter enter in the duo (sorry for my english) was broken, disconnetted from the motherboard.
My father opened the duo and re-place the disconnetted part on the motherboard, but after he closed the duo the power manager do not work fine.

Actually I can use the duo only connected to the ac adapter, and the battery seems ever to be in charge. If I toggle the ac adapter plug, the duo turn off itself. Looking with a utility, the battery give no power to the power manager, but it have power. If I put the duo in sleep mode, the battery works again, and I can toggle the ac adapter plug. But if I wanna to use the duo again I have to reconnect to the ac adapter before exit from the sleep mode.

I tried to reset the pram and to reset the power manager, but there are no change at all. I fear this is a hardware problem, and I fear I have to change the motherboard to have again a working power manager, but I'm asking you if you have some suggestion about this big big trouble for me. I was using this duo everyday to write novels while I was around.

thanks in advance.

Sounds like a hardware problem. I would suggest reopening the Duo and checking for additional damage near the adaptor port. A cracked solder joint or broken trace might have disconnected a line to the power manager.

I hope you can fix the problem!
