 Wallstreet AC adapter on the 500?

This fascinating site for the Powerbook 550c

suggests that the Wallstreet PB's power adapter can be used on the 500-series, though it may fry the batteries. Could this possibly be true?

I noticed on ebay, though, that they're even more expensive.
