what-ever happened to calling it .68k then? ;)there's a .NET for PC users, a .MAC for OSX users... and I think that us 68k users are left out! anyway... Official 68k videographer Official MLA TourGuide Editor of the MLAgazine "I'm just a normal computer geek who somehow landed a social life" |

heh... .NET and .MAC are really two different beasts....MAC is services for the user, and .NET allows microsoft to put the user to work for them and their evil cohorts anyway, .NET is rather (so far) a unified login system for the internet, you can youse your .NET password as a MSN name, to login to eBay, for MS' site and for loads of other places... it gets kindof annoying... because they say that wherever you have .NET availale you'll automagically be logged in... but it's not really true. I'm glad I have 2 static Ip's now so that my two servers don't try and hog the same ports. Even though my netgear is working, I think I still need a switch. Otherwise I will never get both IP's to work. It seems redundant that I need both a switch and a router to serve one machine far away. However, I am thinking of getting a BlueTooth Solution to get the other machine connected. There is a wire going to that machine but the USB dongle got broken. I always tell my dad iether not to buy stuff or be carefull with it and he always messes them up.The good news is that I picked up 4 Seagate 1GB drives, so my 840 will have more room to spare. (Not to mention I am testing out a new server feature, FirstClass, which I recently aquired!) All in all, it ain't that bad, it just seems that If I want to get a clean nice enviroment, I need to sink a good 500 dollars into everything, which sorta is a joke because these are all used machines except for my PC, and so it just seems, um, this cycle of neverending spending or fixes. How I hate that.
