Last night, i started making archives for RetroNET, my archive of various Mac sites from 1996/1997, that a lot of us do not want to lose. In the end, this will be hosted on the internet somewhere, and will never be lost, hopefully. Seeing as though i've just started, I have Apple.com from 1996 and 1997, and same goes with MacAddict.com. I would've gotten more, but the WayBack machine slowed right down. Is there anything that anyone would like to see on RetroNET? If there is, please speak up, and i'll see if i can include it.

You could Include Genecomp.NET, seeing as how it looks old

Good point. But is there anything on the WayBack machine that people would like to see included?

Try archiving project pages like http://macbochs.xoom.com which was the page where David Batterman had the first Mac Classic port of 68K/PPC (FAT) of the PC Emulator Bochs.

See if eWorld pages are stored, and the list goes on. Maybe see if the old companies that used to make Macintosh products are archived. Especially the ones that no longer exist. I am going to do a sweep in a month or so for names that belonged to older Macintosh technology companies and register them if possible and move any archives from the wayback machine to them. Makes a nice touch to the Mac community.

Good idea. As for hosting, i'm probably going to host the whole shebang on a Brinkster acct, but if someone can come up with a better host (more space and/or more bandwidth), that'd be excellent.

Sure I can host gzipped archives of your site if folks wanna download it or make thier own mirrors.

I'm still sorting out my machines but I have other dedicated servers so send me gziped (or zipped) archives and I will host it.

Mail the file to my e-mail adress listed on my profiles here. I'll then see it's placed online and updates are done.

I think it's safe to say Cory Broadband and you are like peanut butter and sour cream. I just don't see them together in the bear future.

Here is a new policy for RetroNET: If you find a page that is dated at any time from 1993 to 1997, send me the link, so that i can include it in the archive. The reason for this is that even though it may be around now, it won't be around forever if it's not archived.
