No link now, but I think I have seen ATX conversions on XLR8 Your Mac. Nice metal case will offer better cooling and chassis grounding for drives than my 8500z pvc frame. Use a notch tool to make a port- panel and thunderbirds are go!
G3/300 might be a bit slow for Divx unless you use a video card which will remove some ov load. My 8500 runs stock video with a G3 556 and can barely play most MPEG4/ Divx movies. Great for MPEG1/ VCD though. Another issue is the notorious QuickTime support for Divx audio. Apple was responsible for much ov the MPEG4 standard, but they intended movies to use AIFF audio. So happens most ov those who have taken the ball and run with it use MP3 audio instead. Easy to find video cards which QT can use for playback, but you might need to convert many ov your AVI philez. Not easy to find hardware support for other playback appz. I bit ov configuration, tough can be done!

ouch… I suppose I shouldn't get a newer G3 card for my 9500/G3/300 [I can play most Divx .avi's after converting them to .mov and using Movie Player 2.5.1 to play them in presentation mode at half size…]

but the 400mhz indigo iMacs at school can play the same files at full screen in OS X with MPlayer…
I guess the ol' system bus and video card aren't quite up to it…

oh, and if you have a copy of Toast Ti on one of your comps, look for a file called "ToastVideoCDSupport.component", just drop this thing into your OS <=9.x extension folder, and you can convert all those stupid Divx.mov files into full-screen capable .mpg [MPEG-1] files ^_^ [though at 300mhz and over ethernet it takes about 2-3hrs], but then you will probly have the files on your HD and get it done in maybe 1.5

If I open my window all the bugs will get in… That's just one more reason to use a Mac!
