The big race will come to see who buys Trash.com first, Apple or an Anti-Microsoft group.

Currently the domain is literally trashed.

Just wondering, but what is this thing with Ipex computers? I've never seen one... Is it like the eviler twin of Packard Bell? (Although I can't see how that's possible...)

Tell me about it... My first PC was a Packard Bell Axcel 350CD... Mmmmm... 60MHz and a borked FPU (thanks to Intel) Maybe that's why I like Macs so much.

Most of the brand name machines like Packard Bell were not "top notch" machines, but the companies tried to bundle them with everything you need, saving time and learning. So, sadly, even though they were crappy in terms of comparable models of the clones, marketing and package deals were the thing of the day. Pay $2,500.00 for a 486 and 2 years later sell it for $200.00 to buy another $2,500.00 Pentium 90Mhz.

Yeah but the "myth" factor is starting to fall on deaf ears, as companies are forced to be more open and honest with customers. 5 years ago the details of specs for a bundle system are less than today, and less openess and compition since not as many Clone makers were doing there own package deals. The market has changed and consumers are tired of spending money.

heh... my packard bell statesman is a good laptop, mind you, the RAM limit is 12MB (whihc runs win95A upgrade just fine) and the system feels like a 386, but it's still clunking away after 7 (my dad's work, then my dad, then my grandpa, then my little brother, then my big brother than my cousin then me (finnally, first laptop I ever owned) right now, the case, instead of being a bleched white, it's the color of an overripe lemon, the battery was completely fragged (the cells had leaked all over the inside of the battery case) and the hard drive had been taken. hehehehe. still going strong as my "test it out before you break an expensive computer" machene. hehehehhe! great for pascal.

Well, you've got me there... Although, the PM 6100 was released at the same time as the original Pentium... and don't tell me the PPC 601 had a borked FPU.

FPU seems to be the glitch of the machine era. And here I thought we were good at making machines.

Well, back to my 25 pound Crash-Proof word proccessor that IBM made in the 80's! It's an eletric typewriter, a little noisy but it is nice and don't crash.
