I know that several of us might have eWorld from CDs and from the MLA hotline server...

but does anyone know if a such thing as "eWorld server software" might exist?

it seems like it'd be fun to see if apple would let us find this software, maybe run it on our own and connect to it with eWorld client...

just think of CoryNET or RetroNET running en eWorld server, and the people being able to develop old style content for it or something....

true, but why bother when pretty much any computer can dish up HTML pages on the internet?

Speaking of old Apple internet stuff does anyone remeber project-x? the idea was you could navigate the web in 3D each link appeared in a different bubble, the actual pages were 2D but you links were represented in 3D and you could "fly" through the internet.

I've some old mac magazines back in the UK with screenshots, shame I can't get to them

oh THAT in MacAddict's 5-year anniversary issue, they had a 'best and worst of' feature, and that was on it looked pretty interesting actually... like you just fly aimlessly thru 'cyberspace' and you click on a site that looks intersting before you get dizzy? :-\

oh... and the fascination with eWorld is that it doesnt appear that you can just tell it's browser to use a tcp/ip connection...

You humans are such odd creatures. You spend all your time on the past, on the old.

Get with the new century dudes!

There is a whole new world of gigaflops and terabytes and petrabytes and gazibytes and migihertz to go crazy about!

lol... Old stuff is COOL!

well... the fact that it's very unlikely anyone will ever get it to work is kinda discouraging... but it's still cool to try!

Comeon, there comes a time that old names just se=em so old tech and that like in 10-15 years PC's still use BIOS which is so outdated.

We need innovation, we need new blood. Need blood transfusion or computers all die.

I know what you mean. The whole idea of the BIOS is so out of date.

hehehe... I don't have any PCs... but I've always thought that BIOS was a nice way to make sure that your PC recognizes everything and that it's doing allright...

alot of people ocmplain about how mac doesn't have BIOS... IMHO... maybe there should be a CD that has a "firmware settings" proggie on it?

because no matter what, PCs AND macs will always have an input and output system... and if they have any, there will be at least one that is "basic" hence "basic input output system" AKA the firmware
