It's MEEE!!!

I finally am joining the league of Blue/White G3 owners, and server runners!

http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=2744454981

it'll come with 384MB of RAM, a keyboard+ mouse, and I'll be running it with my Gateway EV 700 monitor (for awhile)

I'll probably be foruming and webbing and netbooting from this machine by day, whilst crunching seti units and sleeping it at night (to keep the uptime)

I've been saying that I was getting a B/W for what... a month now? it's actually happening

That's very cool, man, do you know if it's the rev. A or B motherboard?

Ah, nevermind, I read it, saw that it's got the G4 mobo in it.
Nice score, I'm hoping to grab one of these sometime down the road..

I have been wondering for a while why many of those things didnt come with a modem. Was it not a standred option?

I don't think it was, at least not for the low-end models, prolly wasn't included to keep the price low. I remember wanting to buy one and figuring in the cost of a modem.

The auction said that it only comes with 64 MB RAM. I take it you'll be adding more? Anyhow, that's great. It's nice to know someone out there had the money to afford these things.

Probably the rev. B motherboard. He says it's the newer "Yikes!" one without the ADB ports.

The 'Yikes" never did have ADB ports, only B&W Mbs had them.

Yikes!

you're all wrong

the Yikes! was the PCI G4 motherboard, why it doesn't come with a G4 processor I don't know...

if I use the Buy It Now feature, it comes with 384MB of RAM...

So far... the seller seems to have a problem with reading, the auction pages say that shipping and handling is free if I use the Buy It Now option... but he has added shipping to the price with buyitnow...

I might need to get a modem later... in fact, I might even forsee some *slight* problems with this seller... they've already begun (the S/H issue)

it turns out that he used to have it listed at $475 buy it now... and he'd forgotten to change the other parts of his auction to reflect that...
