I figure as we have some people from down under I can finally get my question solved. Here in the states we drive on the Right side of the road and on the Left side of the car. Our pedals are in the order Right Throttle, Middle brake and Left Clutch. So my question for the other side is are your pedals in the same order?--Eric ___________________________ Have you seen my mojo? |

The pedals are in the same order, but the stick shift is on the left. Yep, that's right. Everything is the same, just you're on the other side of the car. I know this because a lot of mail carriers who live in areas where they have to supply their own vehicle like to buy the euro style cars so they don't have to reach so far to deliver mail. The Lightning Stalker Performa 631CD, 7.5.5 LC III Mail Server Q610 Q650 6400/180 40/1.6G/512k L2/enet/video-in/TV 7600/120 '604/233, 80/1.2G & 4G, 9.2.2 (Main Mac) Lady Smith Apples: Apple IIc 5.25" 2 Apple IIe |

They do similar torture tests to vehicles here in Aus - often in the Northern Territory where there are 'less' road rules. Aside from speed tests, they do things like drive in 1st gear at a certain number of revs (read: redline) for 10km and stuff like that- - - - - - - - - - - - - A little knowledge is a dangerous thing, but it sure beats a blank stare for starting a conversation. 68k ParaMedic |

yeah... I haven't actually seen the "APG" myself, but it's like... 4000 acres of stuff, and they also do "trialer tows" on the highways..they chose this place because of the heat same for AUS torture testing? If you have a look at Holden's website (oh no, here i go again), you'll see about all the torture testing Holden does. Go here and watch the Holden Development videos. Mainly because of the fact that most Fords are shit after about 20 years or so. Plus they're quite dangerous to crash in. Back to the original thread for a second (Not that I mind the Ford jokes, I have two of them - both Tauruses). :-)The first and only time (so far) that I've driven on the left was while I was on holiday in Scotland 5 years ago. It took a bit to get used to, but after a couple of days I thoroughly enjoyed it, and after a week and a half I was loving those twisty back country "B" class roads. The whole concept of roads actually turning is a unknown concept where I'm from, let alone going up and down! The point is, after such a short time, I found driving on the left to be so very natural that even 5 years on I STILL get the urge to drive on the left. In all honesty, it took more getting getting used to driving on the right when I got back. ______________________________________ www.32bitwonder.org ...because it's possible |

Those one-lane roads in Scotland are fun. The scary ones are the one-lane railroad bridges in New Zealand (one-lane wide with tracks running down the middle). You definitely want to stomp on the accelerator to quickly get over those.G4From128k by Day: Mild-Mannered Engineer and Trapeze(tm) Artist by Night: Colonel of Truth, Justice, and the Macintosh Way Reserve Officer in 68kMLA Cantankerous Coot Contingent

My condolences. My dad owned an '86 Ford Aerostar. The transmission would go out every other year and need to be rebuilt. Good thing he got the german engine option or else we would have probably had to rebuild that every other year. |

@The Lightning StalkerI thought I'd get something like this. Heh My first is a 1988 Taurus L that I "inherited" from my Grandfather. It's 15 yrs old, has only 165,000Kms on it, no rust and it runs like a top. I intend on keeping this for a long time. Just like a 68K! My second is a 1991 Taurus LX, which I bought a year after the '88 with the intention that I'd buy something cheap, drive it for 2 years until I can afford something better. 2 1/2 yrs later its so far so good. Every day I keep driving it (and avoiding repairs) I'm saving money. ______________________________________ www.32bitwonder.org ...because it's possible

In the ford arena, if the ford dies or needs constant repairs it's a lemon, but the fords that do make it beyond those first days and keep going never stop.We had a Ford once, it was a Green one, I really can't remember the model, but the metal of the car was strong, it wasn't that aluminum stuff, since the car was made in the 70-80's peroid, not sure when, but it was a good car. I am kinda sad it had to go. The roof was black, A certian material that tended to crack in the sun. I can see the car in my mind, I can even make out blurry numbers but that's it. I might have a photo somewhere of it. If so I will scan it and put it up. This one car they only made so many and they were really good.

Things get confusing here in the Caymans.... being a British colony we drive on the left, but most of the cars come from the US, thus have controls on the left too. Not surprising then that you find so many idiots driving straight down the centre of the road at you... and not surprising either that most cars are covered in dings and scratches.Cheers! ouchies...when we had a '91 ford taurus GL wagon, it had 6-7 new transmissions, 2 new engines, 6-7 sets of new tires (if I recall correctly) it was a comfortable ride though! Y'know, a lot of the Fords made in the 70s and before were actually pretty good. But then in 1982 when they introduced the XD Falcon (in Australia), they REALLY went downhill..."**** em" - Jobs in regards to customers Warrior maclover5 68kMLA Official 68kMLA Detective Number of 68ks Liberated: 7 Number of Contraband (PPC) Liberated from the Dumpster: 1 |

We've got a ford aerostar ('94) that has been to heck and back and still runs fine. It could use a tune up, but mostly, it needs a paint job and some minor transmission work. It's also been rear-ended so many times that I'm suprised the back bumper hasn't been torn off. It's Ford Cars that you need to worry about, not trucks.------------------------- Llama-X Dev Team ·····Liberations····· ·A2:2 ·68k: 7 ·Contraband(PPC):1 ·They-Who-Must-Not-Be-Named(x86): 7 ·Other Systems:2 |
