alright, bear with me, cuz i got to do a little explaining. i'm a guy who's weary about scams and stuff, and I like to check stuff out to see if it's legit or not. and i just found something that i have to tell you guys about. (and no, this isnt an ad or anything, for those who don't know me i'm an actual poster to these forums)i got an email from this kid at my work for some "make money" program. so, curious, went to the site to figure out what kind of scam it is. the basis is: you sign up to recieve email ads, and you get paid $.02 for every one you read. and you get a $10 sign-up bonus. so, yeah, i made an email address on a free email site and signed up for it to see if it was real. and it is! i was like, crap, they're really going to deposit money in my paypal account. cuz you give them your paypal address, or you can have them send you a check. i already recieved one ad mail, and i'm up to $10.02, with a payment coming to me on the 15th of next month. the link is http://hits4pay.com/members/index.cgi?Grindcore, and i'm definatly going to post on the 15th and let you know if they actually paid me or not. but i really think they're going to. -=-=-=-=-=-=- x mac-core x |

I would be carefull, there are more paypal schemes arriving each day. I would not trust it. Send an e-mail to Paypal and verify that account, and do a web search to locate sites that tell people about the latest csams, if it's listed, then steer clear.

Im probably missing something....but how can it be a scam. They send you email, they give you cash. How could oyu loose something, unless you used the same password for everything, like I do. But hey, Im not going to remember multiple 15 character passwords Good ideas usually are created by crazy people, go figure... |

what i think it does is pay you via paypal just like if someone bought something from you on ebay and paid you with paypal. anyway, i've looked at it all over, and it seems perfectly legit, now to just wait and see if it pays me -=-=-=-=-=-=- x mac-core x |

one more thing: if anyone here is from new york, or has unlimited long distance on their cell-phone, they actually give you a phone number to thier parent company, Multiple Stream Marketing. it's 718-275 6721, it's right there on thier site after you sign up. somebody who can should call and see what they say. this thing looks so cool, screw all those "read our emails to be entered into a contest for $100" sites. -=-=-=-=-=-=- x mac-core x |

You did the same math I did, right? That's 750 manhood enlargement and Viagra mails(before you even know they even send you this check)... And who says they don't put that very same mailaddress on a list which *doesn't* pay you(so you'll get, say 7,500 mails)? Look from it from their site... they're just *must* be an angle to this... You're better off flipping burgers imho. Online advertising is not something that is a free for all, because they expect results and returns. They want to make sales, so if they make you jump through hoops to get cash and end up forcing you to buy stuff it's no good. This is another example of the typical internet startup companies that try and say they have a unique way to do online advertising. When people go online, they don't want ads. They hate ads. They only go looking to buy when they want to. There is no optimum way to send advertisements online, it's a lottery of sorts, with very low rates of winning. I would not touch this with a ten foot pole even if they offered a million dollars. It seems like too much hassle and it smells of internet failure all over. Back when the huge internet IPO's came onboard the stock market prices were high, and people are still being sucked in by money. I hate to say it because I would hate to flip burgers, but It's better to flip burgers then get involved in another failed venture. It's more like a hobby of mine now to see the online companies die out, you laugh when one hits the dust because people don't get it, the internet may be a great place to buy things, but people don't like it when you go out of your way to shove an ad in thier face. That would be like you walking through the mall and having over 400 people ask you if you want to buy something, never leaving you alone. Like a mall, people like to surf through and have a look and if something hits thier fancy button they will go for it. Ever hear someone say the internet is a gold mine waiting to be harvested? Bullshit. (excuse my language) The only real people who make money off the internet are the telecommunication companies who sell access points and also ISP's who you buy internet access from. The internet is nothing more than electrical wires across several countries. There is no money in it. My 2 cents & tax.

Well, it probably uses read notification to tell when you actually read the e-mail. If it does, or even if it uses a graphic or something to log when it's read, you could write a dameon for linux that scans the message for a return notification request and sends one if requsted, and then requests all the images in the e-mail and sends them to /dev/null... But I don't think they want to be ripped off.Nick ------------------------- Llama-X Dev Team ·····Liberations····· ·68k: 7 ·Contraband(PPC):1 ·They-Who-Must-Not-Be-Named(x86): 7 ·Other Systems:2 |

1) you can select them NOT to give your eMail away to other companies 2) you don't have to select any "health" or manliness enhancement catagories 3) yeah... I think that $25 is worth 750 eMails 4) to get the moneys, you click on the messages, andclick a link inside it... I used to do this but with another comapny iThink.... 5) if you're desperate for more moneys like some of us are.. you're jumping for joy because of this...My concern is that I can't get my hotmail account to work with Entourage... I'm going to try again now... but if I can get the Entarouge to work... I'll use that, it's much better than the native hotmail interface, or even my uReach interface. it's actually working pretty well. i made a completely new email address for it so i could tell if they gave it out to other companies, which i figured they would, and there actually isn't any spam coming in to it, just the paid-for emails from the place.-=-=-=-=-=-=- x mac-core x |

maclvr. . .I was thinking the same thing all throughout the read of this thread. MLM's (multi level marketing firms) are the modern day pyramid scheme. My friend Jose works at one, he told me all about it last night. They operate under one simple rule: exploit people. somehow, someway someone is getting screwed and the people at the top get $50,000 paychecks every month for being pricks!. . .750 crappy emails? **** that! Our capitalistic consumer culture works so well doesn't it! I have a problem with vintage electronics. . .I am working on it. |

heh.. the linux idea is great.. 1. Write program to find request notification/signal you've read the spam
2. Barrage them with said signal 3. Profit!!!?!?! I would never go near one of these scams.. After reading the first post, I was suspicious that I had seen the same text somewhere else, but couldn't find reference.
