Wait a minute. You can't get mad at this seller because the computer has an "Anti-Glare Screeen". Any anger would be deftly deflected.

The only way that machine could be worth $1000 is if it came with the source code for A/UX.

My anger is like a burning red laser beam, so it's gonna go right through.

Oh well, it's his wasted listing fee, not mine.

Steve Jobs picked the old Apple off the tree, it rotted, and eventually, the seed germinated and it grew into another better, faster, stronger, more bug resistant tree.

These are the things that go through you mind when you live in an orchard.

Aww we can't keep on attacking these fellows that list their 68ks at ridiculously high prices. They just don't understand computer depreciation. They probably figure that if they paid over $2,000 on a computer system that they could expect at least $1,000 back...

But the real world is much more cruel...

He could have at least eaten the apple before it went rotten. It would have made one awesome Apple Pie.

And while he was planting the ne wone, think he could have added some more manure to bring out the flavour? And lots of water, and made sure no bugs are there?

But this is a prevelant attitude among people, that they think anything Mac related is worth millions and they can charge people insane prices. The local stores here are bad for that. I outright told one guy at a store I won't buy it, it's overpriced, there is no way it's worth that much.

And the local mac store knows me and they always give me a fair markup. But I mean, it really annoys me (that is a light word compared to how I feel) that they can feel they have the right as elitests and greedy people that they can charge extra money for an Apple. Yes, I am aware that Apple's don't depreciate as quick as PC's do, and I am thankfull for that. But to charge insane prices for machines that are over 10-15 years old? If it was PC stuff they would be putting it in the trash or begging you to take it.

I know what you mean, BoJ. There was a guy near me that used to do that. When i started working at the Shop, I gave up. No point in trying to bargain with that dropkick when i can get stuff from the Shop for either cheap or free! Anyone remember the AU$200 32 meg 72 pin SIMM?

How about this:

He ate the original apple and crapped it out for fertilizer on the Macintosh that germinated and grew into the new PowerMacs.

Check it out, they relisted it at $450. I cannot believe someone actually expects to get that much for it. You would figure they would look around at some completed ones or something. jeez people

LOL. Even here in AU you could get a beige G3 for that and have money to spare. Heck, for US$450, which converts to about AU$900, you could get a G4 and have money to spare!

A sucker is born every minute, what would be hilarious if someone actually bid on it!

Hey we should contact a well known dead beat bidder and get him to bid on it! Heheheheh!
