The trackpads are not that great.

But you might be able to find ADB game controllers that are like trackballs instead, that might work better.

A mouse or a properly set up keyboard is the best way to go IMHO.

I actually know a couple of guys who are reasonably good on a trackpad, but they're better with a normal mouse.

In my experience, it's not that hard to aim reasonably with a trackpad, except when you're actually moving... stick with the sniper rifle until you get a mouse.

yeah... I am not even in love with my trackpad just for regular mousing.. it requires loads of patience to get used to... and a normal mouse is 'just better' anyway... even a PuckMouse

Yeah. IMHO trackpads are ok for normal mousing, but there's no way in hell i'd use one for FPS.

Yeh, I dont think I could either. Hmm, I have heard trackballs are good for some FPS. Pity they dont make laptops with them anymore.

Interesting. I always wondered why they phased out trackballs.

Trackpads are a bit crap for FPS games like Quake. However don't let that put you off a laptop, even if you have to plug an external mouse in which would cost next to nothing it's far more portable than a desktop!

In terms of gaming the graphics card should be more of a consideration.

I was looking at a iBook, the 2 games I would really want to get would be namely Medal of Honor, and Simcity 4

Well said. In a laptop, as most people know the graphics card can't be upgraded, so it's best to buy as best a one as you can.

Ahh well, its either this, my lovely buisness Im working on, or a forum for OSs. Need something to burn my time
