No, we aren't going to have one, but wouldn't it be fun if we did?

Posts all over the place. Maybe I would post the code of a few good 68k apps, do some html, put up all the boring or funny logs of my IM conversations, and while I'm at it replicate public stock quotes and waste bandwidth.

:P

I can dream can't I? I remember a few times I have had bots message me on AIM I just kept feeding them php and html and other jibberish. It wasa fun. I'll make a coder out of you yet!

Anything for fun. Lately here @ the MLA we have been having less fun and more troubles so we should have something fun for a change, and 68k related. Like a site where we have a contest and you can only enter if you use a 68k browser. Or something.

Anyways, we need something ti liven up 68k since everyone else in the world is singing to the tune of Microsoft's "show me the money".

Hey, we can all sing "If I were a Rich Man" . Does it count if I'm using a 68k browser from Basilisk? My LC is gone so I don't have a 68k Mac .

Well, sadly in this day and age, anyone can alter thier browser's name to match a 68k mac version. There are those who have hacked Phoenix so that Apple.com welcomes them as a Safari user.

But yeah, Basilisk II counts as long as you own the ROM you are using.

Fiddler on the roof is a good musical. I haven't actually seen the show, but just the music. The music can be very jolly and sometimes a little odd like the dream the one man has, or the song you mentioned, where he dreams he is rich, and his wife is in her delight and "one great big staircase leading, another one leading, and one more just for show....".

Life is grand. Especially when you get to live to savour the taste. And let the grumpy old men have the bad stuff. Like George said: "Why is it when everyone else is feasting on the pleasures of life, I get stuck with the indigestion?" And Martha says: "Because you're an old grouch, that's why."

"Just when I knew all the answers to life....they changed the questions."

I apologize for double post (Postcount+++++)

But my quote above didn't mention it was one staircase going up, and one going down. My mind is slipping into a black dark hole while my body is floating in air. Can someone iether shoot my body from heaven back into the hole or call FedEx and have them SonicAir my mind to me?

Btw, in one of the Mac magazines it was mentioned that the FedEx logo we see today was designed on Apple macintosh computers, as are a number of items. I can't remember the whole list, but it was a pull-out section in the magazine. Iether Macaddict or Mac User. (MacUser I think folded and was sold to someone else, I used to have the last edition.)

Over at the MLA2 I was moderator of the *NIX on 68k forum, and i had a pretty good A/UX FAQ going... i locked the thread so only i could reply to it and made it a Sticky (on phpBB) and it was about four full pages of text....

Maybe i should do that here?

I did it in those forums because most of the threads in the *nix section here are "Will A/UX Run On This?" (tm) and a compatibility list at the top of the forum would stop a lot of those questions...

just my $0.02

I had a four-page (approximately) A/UX FAQ running over @ the MLA2 before it was wiped out in the Crisis on Infinite Earths (heh thanks DC Comics)and i was proposing that i start one up here

were you saying you dont know that A/UX means? if so, then head over to the () 'Fritter and read this:
http://www.applefritter.com/ui/aux/

pardon me, im going to wash my brain out with soap for mentioning applefritter.

This thread is like a junk thread we use to just unwind and say silly things. So that we don't stray off topic elsewhere and gets our fingers whiped by a mod's ruler.

Of course, we all care for the mods here, they are such good people.

But every now and then we let loose... and in the words of the funniest set of teenagers to hit movies....

"PArTY On DUdes!"

If you can guess who said that and from what movie(s) then I will give u a prize. First answer wins.

Great to hear you have a reliable brain. Mine renders images and plays games like no other, and makes movies look impressive with it's excellent A/V capabilities, but it likes to eat through PRAM batteries quickly.

Darn... My brain only has 22050 Hz audio output... Video's good, not to mention the rendering capabilites. However, I think my model is incompatible with the "Make the picture I have in my head" button in blender & Bryce 3D... And, as you probably know, software emulation is never as good as full hardware support.

Mine only has 1.1Khz sound input, but it has 4.4Khz sound output. Thanks to high quality sound hardware, music and voice both sound amazing on the internal speaker, which is rated at 1500W.

my brain runs on a 386SX with no soundcard and no serial I/O. This explains a lot.

I installed an MC68030 the other day, and also put an 800k floppy drive in the back of my head, so maybe by the end of the week i will have installed system 6.0.8 on myself using my install disks.

Speaking of 68k, last night i went calculator shopping for PreCalculus this year, and figured i should get a calculator that will last me through college, so i shelled out $150 for a TI-89.

I figured out later that all of the TI graphing calculators run on Z80 processors (like the llama-80 ) except for the TI-89 and the TI-92+ which are powered by an MC68000!

Anybody wanna help me hack System 1.0 to run on a TI-89?

[ 188k!

It has 384k Flash ROM too, so... it should technically be possible to hack MacOS for it... probably...

Yeah, but then you'd have to figure out a way to emulate the Mac ROM and stuff.

You would need to solder in a chip that has extra flash memory to replace the one it has, since there is not enough room for both the toolkit of even say a plus which is like 128k then a hacked Mac OS, you would have like no room leftover for memory. So, yeah, hack that baby in!

Mr. Snruub is an alias Mr. Burns used in Simposns when he tried to get the people to re-invest money he paid as fines in the power plant.

Anyways, it was nonesense jibberish, after all that's the point of this thread, it's a secret plot to allow both you and I to increase our postcount.
