Not exactly. Most of the spam i get is from the US. Still, it'd be great if it was successful. Then maybe i'd be a bit happier with the Aussie legal system, seeing as though we don't have freedom of speech here...."**** em" - Jobs in regards to customers Warrior maclover5 68kMLA Official 68kMLA Detective Number of 68ks Liberated: 7 Number of Contraband (PPC) Liberated from the Dumpster: 1 |

Most spammers operatoe outside of the USA because many countries really don't care how thier networks are used. Except in this one case where a spammer was accused of distrobuting online material that went against the Chinese goverment and they seized his machines. Sadly he got them back after they found out there was no truth to the accusation. They should have planted something, get the guy for sedition. It's just as bad as a crime as spamming. It has gotten to the point where if I know people with young boys and girls, (girls more specifically who are more fragile emotionaly etc.) that they always say they want to ope up a hotmail account etc., and I have to tell them no I wouldn't do that cause the second it's open, there is porn, there is this there is that. Basically at any time of the day, any number of spammers are doing a dictionary spam attack on hotmail. Sucks to be a hotmail user these days unless you have the option turned on where you only recieve mail from your contact list or address book. So unless they spoof headers it's not coming in. British Airways had one of thier computers hijacked and sending spam a while back. www.theregister.com has articles on it.

My Hotmail account is flooded with junk mail, at least 40 messages per day. I'm not going to give out my new email at college to anyone but family and close friends, that way I hope I can avoid spammers. --------------------------------------------- I want to be unique just like everybody else.

I use hotmail, and I only get 2 maybe 3 spam emails a WEEL! But I don't give it out to any of my friends or family, because I would just get stupid forworded emails, that say send this to 10 peple or else, and I probably would get more spam.________________ Flower Power iMac 500MHz 60gb HD 8x4x24 CD-RW 512mb ram 16mb vram 10.2.6 AIO G3 333 OC to 366/66 20+4gb HDs 52x24x52 CD-RW 320mb's ram 6mb vram 10.2.6 6500/225PPC 225MHz 3gb HD 64mb ran8.6 5400/200PPC 200MHz 6GB HD 72mb ram 9.1 |

AOL will give 5 cents for every person who reads this. Please help me by forwarding...".Don't ya just love it when you get 5 of these a day from "friends"? --------------------------------------------- I want to be unique just like everybody else.

I make it a habbit to ignore those ones, or the one from friends where they send you all the details of thier life and full name.So I sit back and watch as they reveal everything about themselves. You gotta wonder how many sickos on the net actually partake of this and revel in the info they get so they can try and stalk people. This whole information age is nothing like it was intended. I finished watching terminator 3 and I see the same thing, this "Pandora's Box" of the digital age. It's fuled by so many factors, and next to impossible to stop because greed is the main factor behind most SPAM out there. I will pledge my allegiance to the hacker group who disconnects the world's networks and reprograms them with Mac OS X.

"Unsolicited Commercial Proposals".In other words, they want to marry our money, so they can have all the benefits "untill death do us part". Like those folks who marry for money. Same thing, just easier and less guilt.

a Weel? is that anything like a wheel? Or... is it some new MLA-Jargon that I'm unaware of that has to be spelled WEEL? If not, lets come up with a definition of WEEL so we can turn it into another 68kMLA Proprietary Buzzword. (its time for some new ones to replace "Token Worthless Post" and the dreaded "p*stcount++" ________________________ Founder, IBM PS/2 Liberation Front Member, 68kMLA SETI@home Team http://www.kevcave.tk = The Kevcave Manager, the llama-X project. Damn "L" key being right next to the "K" key!!! I know, I'll take the "L" key off, who uses the letter L anyways?? ;)hmmm, WEEL, I wonder what it is? Is it the next generation IBM PPC 980 that will run in any 68k mac? I guess time will only tell.....unless one of you out there works for IBM and can varify this? ________________ Flower Power iMac 500MHz 60gb HD 8x4x24 CD-RW 512mb ram 16mb vram 10.2.6 AIO G3 333 OC to 366/66 20+4gb HDs 52x24x52 CD-RW 320mb's ram 6mb vram 10.2.6 6500/225PPC 225MHz 3gb HD 64mb ran8.6 5400/200PPC 200MHz 6GB HD 72mb ram 9.1 |

i had my hotmail account since 1997. even the password is still 6 digits (oops!) and i cannot leave it more than 2 days, else it'll be full(with spam) and suspended.but then again, earlier this year i registered a yahoo account. i didn't give the email to no one. and... no spam. really! yahoo don't sell your account. that's the good news. but, i hate their format, eventhough they give you more space (4 MB) this is a catchy signature!

Pojam: Obviously you don't have your hotmail acct set up properly. It's a good idea to do this:1. Log into hotmail and click on Options 2. Click on Personal Profile 3. At the bottom, you'll have options asking whether you want Mordor$oft to share your personal information with other companies. Make sure NONE of these boxes are checked. 4. Click on update 5. Now that you've got that out of the way, you'll need to go into your Junk Mail filter and make sure it's properly set up. I have mine on extreme, and I have it set to send all email from recipients not on my safe list to the junk mail folder. Everything in this folder is deleted after 7 days. You may sometimes also get perfectly good email in this fodler as well. When this happens, checkbox it, and click on This Is Not Junk Mail, and select the option that you want to do. These steps won't completely rid you of spam, but it will be less of a PITA.
