 Deletion of MLA 2.0

I am sorry to say that someone with the ip 216.67.200.92 (and I know who this was, and am currently taking action with their ISP) has malicously and immaturely deleted the entire MLA 2.0 in a cowardly act early this morning.

Personally, I think we could really start fresh with a new MLA 2.0, without that individual who isn't mature enough to be part of any forum.

Anyone who would like to join me, please step up now.
Thanks,
-Antipex (Tizio here)

I probably will, if it's better than the old one, that is, no more flame wars, or civil wars, or anything like that. Just plain old 68kMLA, like usual.

hmm... that was pretty low.

I propose that we find a way to have the MLA2 coexist with the 68kMLA, perhaps with all non-68k discussion taking place over there, or the article-based stuff (which was a really good idea) being there and keeping the forums here... i just don't think setting out to kill the 68kMLA is the right thing to do.

Perhaps this forum isn't the place to talk about it. Talk about it on AIM if need be.

This whole MLA 2 thing is getting out of hand, and it's going to sooner or later start ruining friendships and making the exisiting 68KMLA terrible experience.

So let's just keep the "other mac forums" outside of the 68KMLA and deal with any issues privately instead of posting it here. It just serves as flame bait, and I haven't bought my flame suit yet.

first, I'd like to say, to the world, that I'm sorry I did what I did, but it seems to have worked "overall"

I think that the MLA is a great concept, but there can only be one MLA... there can be multitudes of other forusm...

I don't think I belong at "Apple Pie" so I won't go... it's causing problems for me in other areas that I just don't want... like here

Its' not good for reputation and it's just not fun for anoyone....

This is getting ridiculous so:

1) You're off the webring... If you want to stay on it, you've got to re-register.

2) As bad as some parts of this forum have become, at least they aren't changing servers daily... Therefore, I'm not going to approve the webring entry until you demonstrate that you have a stable host and an established forum.

Thank you,
Nicholas Marino

Sorry, I was just making a public announcement. I knew Tizio is the host, but Catsdorule was the person who was registered with the webring. Therefore, in order to reach whomever will (hopefully) re-register it, I made it a public announcement.

Hmm, its seems that I picked the wrong couple of days to not check the forums

I have decided that I will (as of now) sign up for the next MLA 2.0 Though I did do a new graphic for it. Tizio, Cats or Captain Z; it any of you guys want it I'll be happy to send it to you.

I am going to try and remain neutral it this whole bit, and I hope that this thing doesnt spiral out of control and break the 68KMLA into two factions.

I don't believe that there will be another MLA 2.0. There is only going to be one forum that is hosted where DigitalNN is, and that's DigitalNN Forums.

As if!! there's like six of them (MLA2) and 500 of us (MLA original flavour), and besides their servers keep changing/crashing which is what they keep complaining about this place.....

I'm looking forward to the day when there is a little bit more legitimate conversation around here, and less of this bitch slappin' anal retentive "whose forum is the f**ken best", "my web experiment is flavour of the day" (quick log in before it goes away) rah rah rah f**king rah!

Seriously guys - unplug for a few days (weeks even!) and GROW UP!

I should leave this alone... but what the hey, I'm pissed (take that any way you want)

Fact: the level of 'normal' MLA conversation around here is inversly proportional to the number of posts by about six or seven (or ten, or whatever) MLA members who forget that this is not their own personal part of the universe. For those of you still at primary school, "inversly proportional" means that ever since this bitchin' started, the conversation has gone downhill - even getting personal (by all means, get personal. But do we all need to be part of your little squabbles?)

"Make the choice not to read these shite threads" you say. Well "f*ck you", I got to read through this shite just to get to the good parts

While I'm bitching - I don't see how America can invade Iraq on the basis that they "think that Iraq has weapons of mass destruction", while they can't bomb Korea when they "know that they have weapons...." Hey - I like Saddam as much as the next guy (which is to say that I don't like him at all). But you have to see double standards for what they are

notice how my bitching is about war/politics/world peace, and your bitching is about...well...nothing....

the world is a f*cked up place - get over it. Make it better!

OK LET ME EXPLAIN SOMETHING SO THESE RUMORS DON'T SPREAD FARTHER

THE servers NEVER CRASHED, everything has been up and working since day one, the only time it was down was when cory trashed it and yesterday when we decided to delete it because it was already trashed enough and it wouldn't recover. I might start a computer related forum again when I feel like it, but I have been disturbed enough about this, i still have a mysql backup of applepie so no posts are lost let me repeat NO POSTS are lost! It has not moved to digitalnn.

Thank you.

thank you, flash, for your wonderful insight...

yes.. I know what "varies inversely" with means... IIRC the shape the line forms on a graph is called a "hyperbola"

thank you catsdorule, for clearing THAT confusion up.

if it's bugging you so much flash, why don't you start a "political thread" of sorts.... I'm sure that that's considered legitimate lounge discussion... and it'll be more likely to be read in a different thread.
