My brother's beige g3's WINGS card does not seem to be doing video capture at all, but it was fine before he left for a few days... The audio in/out is working, along with video out-but no video in. He reset the cuda, re-installed the software, and reseated all the cards in the computer-and it still wont work. The software is also re-installed. anyone else ever have this problem? He is blaming it on me leaving it on during a storm while I was at work....Artillery Commander/Engineer, 68kMLA

I take it all you are getting is a blank, black screen, instead of whatever you are trying to capture?
What is it you are hooking it up to attempting to capture also?

yep, just a black screen. and it does the same with either s-video or composite. He is trying to capture storm chase video from a vcr and 8mm video camera.Artillery Commander/Engineer, 68kMLA

Sounds like you've already taken all the steps I can think of. It is probably either a software interface issue, or the port/circuit really is fried. Hopefully it is the former. Have you tried other software to test it? Like apple video player? It is pretty generic and works on almost anything as far as I have tested it...
Otherwise I'd say just jiggle the plug around and see if you can somehow test the hardware at all into seeing if you get the slightest hint of a connection.~The Penguin (wishing he were more helpful, lol) **| Want free 68kmla email? Drop me a line |**

Macdaddy reporting here - finally remembered my password to this place, yes it's been that long since I've been here... And I'm the owner of this troublesome G3. IIRC it was the day I left for Chicago I last used the AV to watch TV on the G3. I left that afternoon, and was there for the 4th. Got back on the 5th, and attempted to fire up the vcr and apple video player. But nothing on screen. Black, Nada. Checked the connections, still nothing. I tried some other video capture/monitor programs on here as well. Did all the CUDA-ing, card seating, os reinstall, to no avail. Still does not work, and I haven't had the time to mess with it, like to try to put the Wings card in a different Beige G3 around the house here and see what happens.
As far as storms go, over in Chicago we had great weather the night of the 4th, but here at home any July 4th celebration was a washout. The storm video I had been working on was actually from my storm chase that I went on a month ago.macdaddy - 68KMLA Field Meteorologist
