I have a Mac Classic II and i bought the Asante Desktop EN/SC interfase to connect it to my home network.
I install the adapter and install the drivers, the leds in the Asante adapter are blinking, and the led of the port in the switch i´m connecting it doesn´t light.
I tries with a normal RJ45 network cable as well with one crossed.

well, did you buy this card new or used if new try giggling the ethernet cable, and also see if it is possibly your hub/switch that has the dead port and also try a different patch cable

Have you configured your Mac's Network/Appletalk control panels to use ethernet?
BTW, I welcome both of you to the 68kMLA.

and yeah... check your hub with a different computer, and check with different cables... and also make sure that the EN/SC (for those who dont' know... a SCSI port ethernet adaptor) is plugged in all nicen' cozy...
you may have SCSI ID problems too.... my EN/SC portable thingy defaults to ID#6 I believe....
