Is there any utility that will convert disk copy images to raw floppy images for a PC?

Well there is a program called HFV Explorer which can I believe format A PC Disk to Apple format and write images to it, but you still use the basic disk image format.

http://mes.emuunlim.com/tips/bootdisk.htm shows you how.

Yes, but that can only write raw images, not Disk Copy images. I have a copy of HFV Explorer that just barfed when I tried to open said image. Rawwrite did the same thing. BTW... I know the image is good.

Oops, I goofed. It's Gemulator Explorer that does the disk images. You have to download it from Emulators.com. Just don't ever buy anything from that page, get what you need and don't look at anything. They guy that runs that site is horrible.

When I made my emulator package and had a few questions and asked if I could include his emulator or even just a link to his product he responded with foul words etc., etc, he even said I should leave the promotion of Apple 68K Motorolla 68K etc., to thier respective companies and not mess with thier stuff. Heh, buddy, you make a 68k emulator, kinda hypocritical.

He does the same to paying customers. So, just head to the download section and grab what you need. Just so you know when you do, several new windows might popup during your visit, I don't know the reason for opening a new window for something on the same site, most online companies know by now how much people hate pop-ups, and considering the link doesn't go off his site there no reason to fear someone will leave the site. Go figure, some people are just natural idiots.

I looked up some info on google and found this page:

http://www.sheppyware.net/products/beos/sweet16/manual/disks.html

Now, while this application is for BeOS, it shows how Disk Copy 6 format is the same as Raw format. The only question being is the Raw format the one you are talking about as BeOS sees it.

In other words, without a resource fork, a DiskCopy 6 image file is a raw image. The only thing extra are usually the resource fork on the mac which usually holds a disk image's checksum which ensures the disk is not corrupted. So make sure if you have those type of images, make sure thier checksum is valid in Mac OS before putting them on a PC to format it otherwise you won't have any method of checking.

I'm hoping this info helps.

Often DiskCopy read-only or read-only compressed images don't work with PC disk image apps. Sometimes you have to convert the DiskCopy image to an uncompressed read/write image for it to work.Go to Top of Page

Gaaa.... I swore I'd never go near that site again after I made a futile attempt to use SoftMac. Oh well... If it fixes my Mac... I'll do it.

Well... That didn't work. Could someone decompress the file ftp://68k.torpedobird.com/Operating Systems/8.x/Disk Tools PPC.img to a raw image file and send it me via AIM? My SN is Bball24237.

Thanks,
nick
