Hey all...

As a little thing I've been planning to do to (hopefully) liberate unused computers I'm planning to do a computer recycling drive. Basically I'd be collecting working computers of all types. Afterwards I'd repair/upgrade the ones I can repair for cheap, sell them, and donate 50% of the net profit to charites such as the Love Jen Foundation (a charity located in South Flordia), local food banks, and the Salvation Army. The remaining money would be used to repair/upgrade the rest (except for the few computers I want to keep.) What do you think? Also, any tips?

Very good idea, geekwurkz. As well as that, it also keeps your confidential data from prying eyes.

Well, since most of the computer's will be donated, it's not only my confidential data that's being hidden. I've finally got it set to happen on the 19th. If I'm lucky, this will raise PAF for my small computer collection (16, 8 working) when they see what I'm doing with the donated systems.

by "gnastiest things" I meant the parts that they use to make them... like... the stuff that's in CRTs and whatever they coat the boards with (or something)

bad for the environment ya know
