Will any PDS video card work in my Performa 631CD? I see on eBay that they say they will work in a 7100. Does that mean that they won't work in mine? Thanks! |

The evisio Quick16 is the one I want for my LC475, 16-bit color up to 832x624 and works in OS 8.1! 666th poster to the 68K Macintosh Liberation Army Forums Mod of the Mac II series Forums Total 68K Macs liberated: 7 Visit my site! |

I really prefer the custom model from Apple, they built one that'll do 1024x768 stock, with a PCI expansion slot if I need to kick the res any higher on my 630 box. jt

Yeah, I forgot about that one. Those damn things almost never turn up on eBay! I have to make a run back to the Disabled Veterans thrift store when I have some cash again, though, as I left behind a machine that had "a" LC PDS video card in it (though I don't know what model).666th poster to the 68K Macintosh Liberation Army Forums Mod of the Mac II series Forums Total 68K Macs liberated: 7 Visit my site! |

I waited forever for the mail order price to hit the $300 mark to get one, now they're in the mags for $100 w/15" monitor! I wonder if it's got a decent SCSI controller.....hmmmmh?I wanted an LC PDS card for my hack, but the only portrait res seems to be for pivots. The vid/cap display's only really good (full screen) at 640/480 anyway, do you know of any analog lcd's that'll run off (or adapt to) the LC630 (any mac really) monitor jack? A tiny color VGA monitor from a cash register post mounting bracket might be perfect if lcd's aren't available (cheap when banged up) yet. Let me know if anybody spots one, please. jt

Oh yeah, those 9" and 10" POS (Point-Of-Sale) CRT's are great for hacks, especially into CC's and the ilk. I once saw one on eBay that did up to 1024x768! Which, on a 10" screen, would required a magniying glass to read, but still, they're pretty cool. I think it sold for about $35, but there's usually others that only do 640x480 for much less.666th poster to the 68K Macintosh Liberation Army Forums Mod of the Mac II series Forums Total 68K Macs liberated: 7 Visit my site! |

Ahhh here we go, here's one of the 10" SVGA's that can do 1024x768. There seems to be a good number of them around today. And this is the only color, 9" SVGA monitor I could find on eBay, and it goes up to 640x480. All the other nine-inchers are mono. Either would be great for hacking into a smal space. Small, analog LCD's are pretty hard to come by, though the Safeway near me has just outfitted all their cash registers with what appear to be very high quality 10" POS LCD's. If I can linger around the checkout lane long enough, maybe I can figure out who the OEM is and go from there... 666th poster to the 68K Macintosh Liberation Army Forums Mod of the Mac II series Forums Total 68K Macs liberated: 7 Visit my site!
