Where are the sounds stored that the computer uses, ie: indigo etc?

I remember hearing about where they are kept once upon a time, but I can't find them for love'n'money, I searched for quack but nothing!

They're in the system file. Just double-click and there they are, in the midst of the keyboard layouts.

That's the System file (or suitcase) as opposed to the System Folder

A little knowledge is a dangerous thing, but it sure beats a blank stare for starting a conversation.

If you want to extract the sounds just make a copy of the System suitcase and drag the sounds out of it, or reverse, you can drag sounds to it. (Dragging sounds to it has to be correct format to work)

SoundApp will convert the sounds to anything you want. I have wav and MP3 versions of them plus a few AIFF. They make good replacements on other machines.

or you can just hold down [ alt ] and drag them to the desktop to make a copy of them to the desktop ... it saves duplicating all the keyboard layouts and stuff as well
