OOOORAAAAAGH!
Congratulations, comrade!
jt

p.s. how's the tyke feeling?

p.p.s. I checked the stats, your bet looks pretty safe about word-counts, but a guesstimate posts/week ratios indicate a need for more fresh air or a revised estimate of my 500th posting: from forever to about two weeks! No wonder my wrists don't work, and I'm not getting enough work done!

She's still sick, but it's nothing serious. We took her to the doctor's yesterday (which is why yet again I didn't get to check my email at home) and she has no fever, no infection, is well hydrated etc. She was just stuffy and watery-eyed and kinda miserable, but some children's Dimetapp did wonders!

Great to hear it! I used to love benadryl, *knocked the little b*****d right out!* it did wonders for my kid.

I felt the same way when my Me First and the Gimme Gimmes site hit 300. Fat Wreck Chords took it off their links section for some reason and I haven't updated it in a long time. In fact, I don't even think I know the address...

whups! here it is: http://punkboy.users3.50megs.com/
The whole layout/design wasn't very creative/original but hey - it worked. Its a shame nobody visited the one that I made after Fat Wreck decided to be a bitch (http://spartacus_IIci.tripod.com/mfatgg2)

heh...as if anybody cared...

Well you got another hit on both of 'em, time to log off and trash some cookies. Four freakin' pop-ups and pop-unders to close after that little adventure and the second page never loaded! Someday you'll have to explain the ins and outs of that kinda b******t to me, but wait 'til I put the framing hammer back on the toolbelt!

Wow...I just threw out my old Fat Wreck Chords t-shirt that I bought back in '92. It did me service at several concerts, and was laid to rest if only because it was too worn to wear but too red to be used as a dish rag.

I really gotta get some updated stats for this site. It's probably over 100,000 now!

Yeah, me too, I grew out of the punk scene by about '95. In a way, I'm glad I did, because now punk has become yet another homogenized, consumer trope that anyone can go to Hot Topic at their local mall to feed with their dollars and senselessness.

I do still have some tapes from the punk band my brother and I formed, which I listen to every now and then. We only played one show, after which our bassist disappeared. I think he moved to Germany, or something.

'I just don't understand what these kids are listening to today."
-Todd Rundgren - circa: punk rock era

music works with generations kinda like "new toys" with individuals and the way loops work in programs.

p.s. Guys like TR have a sense of humor that dovetails nicely with a strong sense of history.

p.p.s. IMHO, of course!

This double post can be attributed to LNOTK syndrome, not software substance abuse related in this instance.

Heh heh, so true, JT, so true. I mean about the generation loop, not the LNOTK syndrome...

get some of your songs (if still existant) and upload them to your site - I'm curious!

Okay, I was just thinking of doing so. They're all on standard cassette tapes, so I'll have to clean them up a little in ProTools before I mp3-ify them, but I don't think they'll turn out that bad. Hey, I should digitize them using my Quadra 840av, since it can sample at 48k (and to make this meandering thread at least have something to do with the 68k realm)!
