COOL!!!

is that router thing.... I think I've seen them in CompUSA... it's like $200 and you can do "lots" with it or is "the router" not the thing with the arrows and the little teeny screen?

Nice pics. Anybody know of a cheap digicam for taking pictures, and I mean CHEAP. I will do my desk in my room if I can find one.

yeah.... I'd go for a nice cheapo too! if it works with OSX

I have this Intel webcam... not sure if there's a way I'll get it to work with OSX...never got it to work with OS9

I wonder why mom's DVcam doesn't have firewire I might use that to get pics if it did...

I picked it up for 99$ from CompUSA. It had a 900Mhz Pentium III and a 20GB HD. Their linux software makes you pay for features, so I formatted and loaded my own linux. Later I'll get some A/UX pics, but my generic Mac pseudo ergonomic keyboard and trackball take up a ton of space.

hehe COOL! I wonder if theyre still available... and how much RAm that has... because my router/server is an Athlon700 MHz with 320 MB of RAM and a 10 GB hard drive... (and it's HUGE and LOUD!)

if I can get one of those thingies still from CompUSA for $99 and install (redhat or whatever) it'd be really cool.

So tell me... Does the bed vibrate?

Strangely, I'll swear I've seen the G4-book before on the shelf like that before.

Yes, that's right ;-) Mine's a Challenge S, R5000SC/180 and it suffered from a dead SCSI-disk a little while ago... I did find myself an unused 9GB IBM scsidisk for it, I'm only waiting for a 68<->50 pin converter, should be here this week. I have an original copy of Irix (6.5.18) so when I finally have the converter I should have it up&running in no-time. The idea is to config it as a nice webserver with some dynamic content and I think I found a place where I can co-locate the baby, I already got a domainname also (geektechnique.org) ;-) I will be thrilled if it all works out, but we'll see :-)

The bed only vibrates when...er...nevermind. The shelf is from Ikea, made for a monitor but I raised it in order to get the PowerBook display at eye level.

Well once I figured out how to use the package management system in Irix, I was much happier. It's a lot easier to use that it looks. I had to use a similar converter on mine. I just swiped it out of my dell server because I didn't have any devices on the scsi channels, just the raid card.

I LOVE IKEA!!!

I have a Niklas desk... they stopped making those...

the TV/printer cart I'm using as a base for the new standup workstation is an Oppli

(BTW... I'm an IkeaFreak... I can remember the names of all these things I've gotten from them! EEP!)
