Well, since some of my posts are gone, I thought, let me repost this one...In short, I took apart a SE, took out the backside, painted it black, put in a 9" 800x600 PC-monitor and put it back together :)

So there's no machine inside the SE(apart from its original mobo), it's connected to my 'HTPC', a Duron 900 with 512mb, 40gb, SB Audigy, RM Hollywood+ and Asus V3800 TVR with video in/out. This allows great versatility(I do not have to cramp in extra hardware in the case) and also allows plain standard PC-hardware. I started it all about the looks, when I had build my HTPC I figured I didn't want a (beige) PC-monitor in my livingroom, I don't have the money for a black TFT(and if I would, I wouldn't use it on there :)) Only thing left to do is to get the softwareside right. At the moment there's *ughe ughe* WinXP on there but I will be putting a *nix on the machine with this system 6/7 lookalike x-term windowmanager, then it will look like a proper evolution of the Compact Mac, capable of playing mp3/divx/dvd
