has anybody noticed http://www.68kmla.com lately?
This doesn't seem to be our homepage...
Has somebody bought our domain name?

That appears to be the case. Check the other threads on this subject for details.

IIRC, we wanted to buy www.68kmla.net and actually use it better...

subdomains for each member might do something...

www.cory5412.68kmla.net might lead to my profile, or a link of my choice... or even my own website...

someone also suggested eMail addresses for moderators and persons of the "comrade in arms" status

I sent a 500 word letter to the organization that bought 68KMLA.com. Basically I was really pissed off but also all business sounding and crap, and said that I would personally pay any reasonable amount for the domain name (read: no more than $30) and that if they did not sell that the 68KMLA would sue them (heh, not really, actually, no chance in hell, but I would send them cease and decists).

Basically I am mega pissed off. I don't know why, I just hate these f*cking domain buying companies.

hehehe... I think we should pick one of these topics... and then reply to only that one...

I would support the MLA suing that guy or whoever it was... (but am only 15 and... yeah)

Good luck! Usually words such as "class action lawsuit" seems to get these sort of people to pull their fingers out of their asses.

They're not even interested in selling at all. It's strange.

wow...

you really are borking out about this?

I haven't used the domain to access MLA for at least 8 months... since my quadra was alive... I personally have MLA set as my homepage and won't really care about the domain when it gets here... it's an added expense and it's just something to borkout over again when someone renews it before [this unorganized bunch] does....

using wonderfully advanced words liek 'class action lawsuit" invites action that, as a group and unorganized as we be.... cannot act upon...

maybe someone could grab a .TK (or many) and we could be content with a .Tk ...

I think that the only reason to get a .NET or .ORG is if we actually do the whole "subdomain" thing where I've described it (so many different times, places, and ways.)

just my frustrated thoughts...

It's one more area where the internet dies a little more each day.
