I want to get 2x 128mb chips or 1x 128mb and 1x 64mb, or something like that. Now, is this the same ram that is used in the 7500s, 8500's, ect? I'll have some stuff to trade (like 20 LC 575s) or I can pay cash. I just need to get some ram for the newest member of my family. :)

I also need an Power Book Duo AC Adapter.

You're in the US so I think eshop.macsales.com is deffinetly your best bet unless someone can beat 25 USD for 128 MB stick.

Of course 5400's can only take 136 MB of RAM IIRC, 8 MB on board and 2*64 sticks. They sell 64 MB sticks for the same price, sign up for their mailing list and you'll save a few dollars, they also have a pretty good clearance sale on at the moment.

Only 128mb of ram?? huuuu, Mactracker says that it can take 2x 128mb sticks? So it can only handle 128mb like my 6500?

5500's are essentially 6500's but with only a 1 slot PCI riser.

U'm 99% certain your machine can only USE 2 x 64 MB, I'm sure if you stuck 2*128 in it would use one and ignore the other alltogether. Lowend mac had a few articles about larger that stock memory, possible covering this machine, things like 64 MB SIMMs in Quadras etc. I suggest you check out the 6400zone, can't remember the link use google.
