There is realbasic, something I don't have anything to do with seeing that I use c/c++ only and a bit of pascal. If you learn or know c/c++ there is MPW. Learning how to use it is a bit tricky. There is also Codewarrior or ThinkC or Symantec C. For Pascal there is a free version of Think Pascal around. Also on info-mac there is a lot of programming stuff including examples.

There is a Java compiler called "MacJikes v1.2b5" here . . .http://www.stg.com/employees/sbytnar/projects/MacJikes/#download from the web page above . . .
Application Requirements 68020 or better or PowerPC Mac. For very small projects, 4MB will work. I chose the default of 8 or 9MB of RAM for moderate projects like Mindbright's MindTerm ssh-for-java applet and application. With MacJikes 1.2, memory allocation for MacJikes is done from temporary memory. Basically, you can allocate the "Largest Unused Block" size for MacJikes to do its work. You should not change the memory requirements for the application itself. Check out the STR 1000 resource. 68K system capable of running MacOS with CFM-68K, Thread Manager, and AppleEvents. Basically, if you have MRJ 1.51 installed, you should be ok. CFM-68K is a future requirement, and is not needed for MacJikes v1.1.

Yes, Java is a bit of a pain in the backside at times. Have a go at C++. "**** em" - Jobs in regards to customers Warrior maclover5 68kMLA Official 68kMLA Detective Number of 68ks Liberated: 7 Number of Contraband (PPC) Liberated from the Dumpster: 1 |
