After having a leangthy conversation on Aim with CaptainZ, I have decided to make my own EV plugin. I am just gonna start kinda small, and it will only be for the original right now. It will envolve another gov. probably on the outskirts, with a good navy and nice ships and upgrades. I havent got a name yet, any ideas? This will also be going up on my website when I get it done.

Though the idea is good I think that I want to keep this with a more or less EV theme. Sure you can beta test. I will probably need people for input.

Ok, serious input then... A name. I would name it something relating to the theme of the plugin. Any ideas on the bent of this new government?

"Dawn of the Red Plague"
"The Mob"
"Fluffy and his Merry men" ...well maybe not.

Well, I want to make a system or a small collection of systems that are basiclly a second rebellion. You see when I first played EV I thought the rebels were cool. I mean come on their cruiser is WAY cooler...
Anyway, the rebels were quite outmatched. So now that I have decided to make a plug, I want to level the playing field. This small government will have a good sized fleet, a nice selection of ships, and some killer outfits. For now I wont put missions into this, unless I really need to/should. So it is basiclly a fringe gov. allied with the rebelion, to fight confederate tyranny.

I think that the gov will allow you into their circle without question. That way you can get some cool ships and wepons asap.

Ok, a splinter faction of the Confederation. They break off from the Confed and take a research lab with them. That explains the new tech and such. You can setup the ships and such first. Later, this will give you great story lines for missions. You can set it up two ways. First, the new rebels break away from the Confed, and with the players help, destroys them. Second, help the mighty Confed crush the breakaway rebels.

That is quite good. Though I will change and twist the story a bit. Oh and it may not be much but you will be given credit for the name and general idea. Thanks

More than I expected. I was just thinking out loud. I'm still trying to figure out if EV plays better on my Performa 630CD or a IIfx. 867 G4 w/ 22" Cinema rocks!

Ev runs too fast on my G4 733... lol It is more than maxed out by my 7100. My duo lags a bit in it though.

Too fast??? Hmmm, I'm a late joiner to the EV world. I played Elite by Firebird Software back in the '80's. Very close to EV except that it was a 3d wireframe game instead of overhead view. I generally play on a powermac and have no problems of course. I've tested on a IIfx, I need a better video card than what I'm using, but I think it's playable on that. I built up a Performa 630cd this weekend and was happy to see how well it played. There were a few sound glitches but hardly any slowdowns. I want to try my quadra 630 to see what a full 040 does if anything.

I don't see any problems with gameplay on the G4. The 1600x1024 screen is just so great. I was surprised to see a game that old support it.
