I have a Farallon EtherMac LC-C card and I have a cable modem internet connection (Com21 DoxPort 1110 modem) witch is connected to PC.

When I connected cable modem with network adapter then modem didn't recognize my network adapter although green light behind network adapter blinked.

When I run EN Diagnostics 2.3 and did the tests only controller register access and on-board ram check were OK. Cable connection and loopback tests failed

Now what should I do to get my LC 475 online? Is there a way that PC can share internet connection with my mac or … ?

Well, I would assume that the cable modem is setup to give ip addresses via DHCP. Is your mac configured for DHCP? If not, you can try this.

Get the network info from the PC, IP address, Subnet mask, Default gateway, DNS server.
Disconnect the PC from the modem.
Hook up the LC to the modem, configure the LC with the info you wrote down from the PC.
Test the connection.

If that works, your LC is fine, just not setup for DHCP. If not, you may have a hardware problem.

It is possible to share an internet connection on a PC.

The thing is that the modem doesn't recognize the network adapter. The modem has several lights but they remain the same if it is connected to LC network adapter - although they shouldn't.

I had DHCP configured automatically.

And how i'm gonna share an internet connection on a PC?

You might need to plug into a hub before the Cable modem... I've heard of, and experienced some problems with the older Macs and their 10meg cards being recognised by switches, so I plug em into a 10meg hub first and all is good. Hope you get that working soon!!!

Ok, Now I understand. You have a bad link light on the modem side and a good link light on the mac side. What you need to determine is:

1. Is the network cable good? Swap with the PC to check.

2. Is the network adapter good? You should be able to hook two computers to a hub and have it work. You can also try a crossover cable to go between two computers without a hub.

It should be couse it works fine with PC

I'm not 100% sure that adapter is working as it should. And I told that some EN Diagnostics 2.3 tests failed.

I don't have a switch or hub and I guess I will need some software to get PC and my lc475 talking to each other with crossover cable.
