check the price of this IIfx out!

I was offered a IIfx with these type of cards from a local university for $10 + shipping and turned it down (I have a bunch of expensive data aquisition cards for the PC), this is probably the same dam machine I was offered.

Oddball cards can get some good prices. That the highest I've seen on a IIfx. I sold a transwarp for a //e and got $70 US for it.

Geez, i sure do know that Marchie would love that if it wasn't so expensive...he loves those National Instrument things.

But yeah, you could almost buy a new eMac for that!

They are "dreamin"!
I would never pay that price for a machine like that.
Its a nice machine, but far too over priced!

data aquisition?

I've been interested in the possibility of getting some kind of data aquisition stuff... like... wind speeds at certain times here where I live

dunno though...

wishful thinking...

I didn't look at the auction but it sounds like one of the coolest, most overpriced things ever!

I check out thier Ebay Store and it's equally appaling!

They are insane idiots for thinking people will buy thier stuff so inflated. Even habitual eBayers who buy frivolous things wouldn't touch that price.

Some people think they are so "elite" and can demand any price if they trump up smart words like "data aquasition" making people think: "oh, it must be some rare vintage that was really expensive in the days"

Hmmph. For that price I can buy a G3/G4 and it can do 5,000 times the "data aquisition".

Why must there be rotten apples in the garden?

Ok, after taking a close further look at thier pages, I have to point out these auctions:

http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=2731077056&category=4193

Only someone on dope would buy that. When is anything of Microsoft/IBM been worth anything? 4 years ago I bought Windows 3.1 OEM for 25 bucks. 2 years ago I bought Windows 95 for 25 bucks. See a trend?

http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=2731050663&category=1247

Talk about inflation. Thank the Gods of Utility that RAM isn't as expensive like these days, or your 256MB Chip would cost you $9,2160.00 . Yeah a bit exxagerated but hey it drives the insanity point across.

http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=2731803965&category=4193

Ughhh RadioShack. No contest there.

http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=2731521147&category=4610

Don't get me wrong, I love apple stuff but I'm not going to spend this much on a thing that won't break the "bit" barrier.

See my comments above on the Dos Version 1.

http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=2731076838&category=1247

Hehehe, RadioShack....but wait, it's better, it's a calculator software package! Oh boy! </sarcasm>

http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=3610010878&category=3782

Garage sales are good places for this. And they only want 5 bucks.

http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=2731064723&category=1247

Unless Microsoft goes under in the next while and Linux has a few "problems" I doubt this would be a wise investment. I mean, great if you are into collectibales but RadioShack isn't gonna be the next big boy.

OK, I'm done harrassing and humiliating them. But they really should lower some of thier prices.

That's one thing I hate about the Mac User base. Yes, Hate.

I hate zealiots, I hate the "elite".

The zealouts blindly argue it's superior in every way.

The elite buy the BS Zealouts push and think they can charge you 3X for it. Like my local Mac Reseller. Used 5260. 300 Bucks. G3 Beige, 500. Used iMac, 700.

And people are suckers enough to buy them.

About the only good deal they had was a 6100 for 50 bucks. (Came with 40MB RAM and an AV card, it's saving grace) And my trust 840Av which i paid 25 Canadian for.

Nuff said.

check the price of this IIfx out!

You will notice that NOBODY bid on the thing. I wish this seller lots of luck because it is only through luck that they will find any suckers...erm...um... I mean buyers for their stuff. Either they have an inflated idea of what stuff is worth or they are just hoping that some poor (rich) desperate soul will really really want the item.

I assumed the seller was looking for some company hard up for a replacement A/D system. The IIfx itself isnt worth much. I just purchased a IIfx 8mb/160mb system with 2 DIO cards from a guy at a university for a grand total of $5 +$15 shipping. Too bad the system it was running got crushed instead of sold. The drive still has software for the cards on it I am told.

The only thing hard to find for IIfx is that damm memory. I want to get at least 20mb to run A/UX 2 (assuming I can find 2.0)

There are some people in this world who think if its old its worth money. Personally, the most I ever paid for a Apple product was my Classic when it was brand new, ever since then I haven't paid anymore than $50.00 and that was for a Performa 6400, 16" monitor and a boxful of mice, keyboards, software and other goodies.

I guess some people think this is a good deal.
