Is anyone gonna renew this domain? The longer we leave it borked, the more likely people don't return here.

See my other post....

I have ten dollars and am willing to renew it but I think there was some debate over mail and services that would go with it.

But iether way, If it's OK with Coxy, I would like to register it, because I can always delegate DNS tasks to other machines people have, so it's not stuck on my servers.

The domain is available too and I also fear a search company could decide to grab it, realling borking it up, because that happened to a fried of mine, I guess they saw it had enough hits so decided to register it.

So I think we should snap up the name quickly.

My 2 cents.

Good point. The last thing we want is it being borked up by some cheap dodgy search company.

If you want to register it, you're more than welcome to.
If you're able to make it work with mail services when DaPenguin gets his static IP (at least that's what i think the current plan is...) then even better!

My static is up! w00t! Internic registration is only $15 overall fora year i do believe, we can run our own DNS entries (i believe clinton has tie-ins). Mail services are also working perfectly for 68kmla.com traffic!

I can host DNS services, and I also have several static IPs kicking about that are not being used for squat. if the MLA needs to requisition one, let me know, and I'll assign one.

I am organizing my server room this weekend, and replotting all of my IPs.

also tagging where the hell cables go, and applying NT4 Service Packs and critical updates.

When the domain disappeared I thought the MLA was done for, but then I realized that it was still up here at LitClassics. Me dumb...but yes, we should get it back on there, it was much easier to tell people about. I'm willing to contribute all of the $0.68 I have in my PayPal account...

if the MLA can get an IP of its own, I can host the DNS entry for it.

Penguin! Please Read!

Send your paypal payment of 10.00 to Gauley@newriverweb.net and specify that the payment is for the domain registration of 68kmla.com and that David Scherer from Webicane Networks will contact Phillip to give Contact Info.

I have to be sure that I talk to him about this otherwise I don't get that price. :)

Sorry I have been off my instant messengers, I am so behind in all my upgrades and work. I'm reduced to checking my mail with yahoo untill my machine is back up, but do that and we will have 68kmla.com back in no time.

Thanks.

Payment has been sent!

If all goes well, that should help us get it back in business soon!

Clinton, do you have an easy front-end to your DNS server?

PS- Ciricon, could you with post back or mail me if you got anywhere with the tape drives.

No word on tape drives yet but I will keep you notified.

Hopefully slowly in a bit my busy schedule will allow me to get my real life back on track....with my grandparents staying with us life is pretty disrupted.

Only a few more days and they go, and boy are we glad. Can you sense the family love? :P

Dave.

Ok, so hopefully if my sysadmin can take a few moments from his busy schedule he can register the name.

He is on a busy schedule, so if there are any delays it's not going to be due to lack of interest/scam/bored etc etc., it's just due to the network admin's insane schedule and he probably is running around like a chicken with it's head cut off. (In this case he would have his laptop as his head frantically trying to get stuff done.)

Dave

As soon as 68kmla.com exits it's Redemption Period then I can push the registration through, right now it's still in redemption. So, it's sitting as "Pending".

I'll check and see later the status.

I wish i could register my own domain name and host it for free from my basement. Although, i really dont know if that would help in this situation anyway.
