Is it possible to replace the duo's 14.4 modem with a 56k?

a serial port modem will work... and IIRC most macs' internal modems are like... serial ports...

if there is such a thing as a 56k duo modem it should work...

I"m not sure. However, if you can get a 165, 165c, 180 or 180c, there is a very rare 56k internal modem that you can get for 'em. I have one and when my 180c and 165c worked, it was really cool.

Erm . . . a PowerBook Gray 56k Pocket Modem is QUITE RARE! One was never actually ever made for the Mac! I picked one up brand new for about ninety bucks because it looked just like my 33.6k LinkCom and it turned out to be made by the company that OEM'd the LinkCom for NewerTech. Works great with the cables from the older Mac version! I was even able to nab a couple of NIB AC adapters for it for next to nothing so I didn't have to shut down the Duo to attach the SCSI MicroDock for the ADB cable power adapter.

Actually, mine's an internal modem ala the PowerBook Modem 2400. And yes, it really is a 56k modem. The few times i tried it it wouldn't connect at any lower speed, and it actually seemed quite fast. Won't work on my PB145B though.

Won't work in a Duo, you'll have to go external.

Dang it. Oh well, I guess ill just use my G4 for internet.

Here is another idea of mine. I want to paint my Duo Silver... like my GBA SP.
I have heard over at the fritter that Krylon is the best to do this with, but here is the problem. How do I go about doing this so that it will look good, cover the whole thing (exluding keyboard and logos) and not not wear off very much?

Edit:
I also want to replace the green LED's in under the Caps Lock and up on the upper right hand corner of the screen, with blue ones. Any help?
