.68k is no longer .68k, but Tempest Internet Services.

We wanted to avoid having legal issues with the orchard.

Life has got in the way with the tempest folks, and we are going as fast as our lives permit. Beta servers using our custom system should be up in the near future. watch for developments. Please note that there will be a modest fee needed to help pay for bandwidth, and server purchases, as well as small contributions to ourselves in hardware and such.

keep looking for updates.

aww.. i kinda liked the name .68k but at least the project is continuing

did the Six Color Orchard say something about the use of the name, or was changing the name a preemptive measure?

I think it was a preemptive measure.

preemptive measure, considering if apple got wind of this, it'd be shut down anyway.

just keeping a low profile.

will any of the other Tempest founders speak up?

I still need to find a nic for my server that is under 50$ ANd since were moving you can look at a time frame of beta testing ~August. The fee for my server should be around 4-5$ a month this might include PHP and mysql later but not at first.

Since my line is back up, I will now have no problem hosting email and webpages, with much better speed. IMAP and POP are fully working, Webmail is giving me php errors which I am working on tracking down.

But overall I believe this was a help to the community of gettin this forward a graet deal. The new services BTW, are (so far) at: http://tempest.webican.com
The site isn't "done," but it should keep ya updated!

If there are for sure people who want to buy an account, I have a few G3's that can be hooked via a T1 Line.

I was the one who suggested at first we change to Tempest, because I didn't want a great thing such as .68k being stoped.

:) Long Live La .68k! :P

is THAT that program you gave me cats?

oops ;)

is there a 68k version?

it'd help if ya'lls 68k services ran... on 68ks....

I want to have my IW running pretty soon and that thing would basically run everything except eMail for me... no reason it can't do that for anyone else who asks for an account... :-\...

just a thought....

Cory, are you talking about Tempest Tools? Because if you're thinking what I'm thinking, well....it was.
