Hello All, Welcome to #2 of this 2 part series. I forgot what the **** it was called, so just pretend that YOU remember and don't need it.

I had a 'conversation' today with ____ ____ over AIM (this is not all aimed at [unnamed guy] BTW)

I've decided that I'm tired of PEOPLE
I'm tired of the aforementioned Windozers, and I'm tired of these people who are always the **** making fun of Microsoft and PC makers.

I am a PERSON, and I WILL NOT lower myself to levels like that.

I am going to stop calling ANY computer company by ANY kind of wrong name.
Crapple,
Gay Tway
CumPac
AitchPEE
Mordor$oft
iPolk
etc etc etc

Because I am the F*** tired of PEOPLE who are like kyle, and anyone who calls PC makers, and other companies by STUPID Aliases like that.
IT BUGS THE S*** OUT OF ME.

What else is bugging me? and OH is there more! OH IS THERE MORE!

I like Microsoft Products. I like PCs and IBM clones and the companies that make the products that make the world turn around.
When set up properly, and used correctly, nearly everything Microsoft has created works grandly.
Even Microsoft Word 6 for Macintosh. I Don't know WHAT the deal is with that but it's always worked for me.

I always try to be objective when I'm evaluating things and I guess that it doesn't work flinging out insults to companies like that... From now on I'm going to call each company by it's proper name, including proper capitalization where prefferable (EX: eMachines, not emachines)

TOLERANCE
Is a VERY important part of our world. America is now tolerating Iraq. In America, white people tolerate "everyone else" Germans now don't want to kill all Jews...
Tolerance is a part of the world where people and people are concerned, but I haven't seen too many "computer tolerant" People...

I can't give a definition of computer tolerant, except "tolerant of ALL Computers..."
I also can't say if I'm completely computer tolerant I won't try either.

I don't know really about anyone else here... but I like Apple's Products... WHY ELSE would I have a TiBook GHz???? and really... as a company... I think that Apple's doing OK...

PC users don't complain when they can't get good help from their company.... that's why internet groups like this exist... so many people dont even call apple anymore, but rather head straight here or to MAF or other places...

WHY the F*** do people whine and complain when a business does what it needs to do to make money?

Some people have bad luck with their computers...

If something breaks, and you can't get the bloody F***ing thing to work, or stop breaking then you have a bit of a clue don't you? You stop using the bloody thing.

One person I know... HASN'T stopped using the bloody thing. an iBook.
He called it iCrook for quite awhile... now he calls it iBork...
The thing I understand is that he doesn't like it, no, he hates it
the thing I don't undertand is that he keeps using the fscking thing....

Yes, I had a discussion tonight with one of what I call a "windozer", I lost my lid. It just blew away... no extreme pressure of anything... I can't quite explain what happened... but I can explain some of what led up to it... that is what this 2-topic series is supposed to be.
I have done my very best, to ensure that this post includes everything that my thoughts include of today.... I try to have used good English and Grammar/Spelling, but I am not sure if that happened. I don't want to publicly flame any individual person on a public scale... that is why I have an AIM account (sorta)
I simply, am tired of the way that *mostly all people* act... I can't think of a single one of us at the MLA who hasn't poked fun of a PC vendor, or flamed out a PC user once... or something else... I'm going to try not to continue anything like that... It's one thing to be a respectful citizen, someone upstanding who uses macs and is proud of it.

It's another thing to be a jerk.

Some people are jerks. Some people are not.

I would like you to know, that I am a person who has his values, and within the last 2 hours, some will be able to tell you, that I HAVE JUST USED MORE PROFANIEIES THAN I HAVE IN MY ENTIRE LIFE.
I consider myself to be a very calm person, and am generally able to keep my lid on when I have a problem such as this, although some people push it so-very far that... well I'll say I haven't found the lid yet.

The lid, is what gives me energy. Pressure stored under the lid is where I get energy... that's somewhat of how I operate... the lid is now gone, and everything is escaping. My thoughts, my verbal cleanliness, my mind and my energy.

thank you for your time and support, as I LOSE MY MIND!!!

and now, a full hour after what point I will usually go to bed, I will click the magical post button. I will release this tarball of thought and slight confusion into the world. Knowing not what will happen because of it, but wishing the effect positive and helpful.

- Peace

Cory Wiegersma

there... it retains the meaning I wanted it to have, while not being offensive.
you remember, that my original intent in having that post, the way it was, was notto have to edit it and make changes later... not that whatever damage might have been done can be magically undone by changing a name....

jeez, you sound like me after a hard days work if someone REALLY pisses me off, have you been holding in or summat?

I know venting helps, so that probally took a load off. Try breating exercises, and go into the desert with a rake, and do some zen gardening. it is very relaxing.

hope you feel better though.

PS, Word 6 has NEVER worked for me, and I have had bad luck with any of the Windows 9x series, I like the NT series (including XP) for stability. Word 5 works really well for me on my 8600 with 9.1.

feel better.

Microsoft's business practices are absolutely intolerable, your rant fails entirely to address this issue. While I agree with you, in general, about platform bashing zealots of any stripe, the parallels you draw between serious tolerance issues and MSBashing are inappropriate, IMHO.

Computer platforms are like religion and politics, if they are discussed, arguments will occur. That aside, there are people who take things too far which you have labeled as 'jerks'. I have to say that I will agree with you in general on that. Discussion and friendly arguing is a good thing. Mean spirited stabs and such are out of place.

On the subject of Microsoft the company. I have supported the company's products as an IT tech since 1985. I am certified by Microsoft on a number of their products. I do keep track of what they are doing as a company. Based on this, I feel that I have a right to an opinion and I can back my opinion up with facts.

Microsoft is a company which uses anti-competitive marketing techniques to obtain and hold illegal monopolies.

Based on that, I have chosen not to support the company in my personal life anymore than I have to. I support their software at work because the business uses it.

The above is not directed at Cory. But anyone who thinks that Microsoft is doing things to make their products better for the customers who buy them needs to look at some history. Microsoft has made some good products. I don't know of any of the currently shipping packages that fall under that category.

I agree with you eneg. I try to support MS as little as possible. Most of my MS software is pirated, because i don't want my money going to The Monopoly. This is why when i'm not at uni, I mainly use Macs and Linux.

i dont have a problem with MSFT's software... but i have to say using all those stupid nicknames for OEM's bugs the crap out of me...

the only Microsoft one i use is MordorSoft because thats the MLA-sanctioned one

EDIT: the reason i dont really have a problem with MSFT's software is that i NEVER pay for it... ever.

Thanks for your support and comments...

My lid is coming back now and I'd like to say that I'm glad that whoever actually read what I wrote did read it.

I do not condone what Microsoft does in it's business world... but unless it comes witn one of my computers... I also don't pay for an MS product (unless it's used (very cheap or free))

hahahaha! all our copies of windows have been free since 95 (windows 3.11 was the only one worth paying for; so very zippy, maybe windows 95A, but that's a whole different story) we just got them from my dad's work... nehoo, microsoft ticks me off becaaaause, they bought thier success! you hate kids in school who di it, and even adults who do it, but a whole company... that's low. here is my phelosophy towards PCs

PC hardware = gooood
it just depends on what software you run on it

*note...
PCs can get veeeeery fickle...

microsoft = mostly baaaaaad
MS mac software much better than PC counterparts, but they aren't as good as like... final cut or photoshop or even macwrite (oh the memories!)

hehehee that's about it

P.S.
my cap ran away a loooong time ago. hehehehee.....

THnx
