Is this a joke? Read the headline. What news.

I believe it.

That prototype will never go to manufacturing... but they'll reason that it wasn't because of Apple...

IMO, its just the usual M$ proceedure:

1) copy Apple
2) screw business partners by stealing the partner's technology
3) intimidate anyone who dares offer non-M$ software
4) claim they have features that they don't have, don't have yet, or have but that don't work
5) hush up any problems (like security holes and the recent theft of data from Passport)
6) make obscene amounts of money
7) repeat steps 1 to 7

Needless to say, I have an extremely low opinion of the ethics and products of the company.

Why am I not surprised? Microsoft has been copying off of Apple for years. Anyone ever seen the movie "The Pirates of Silicon Valley"?

Yeah it is a pretty cool movie. It is a little inaccurate but cool. The best part was when Steve had his arms spred on the mantle with his back to the door and that music playing, when along came Bill.
